The jack(et) of all tradesI have a confession to make; I’m not the most adventurous dirtbag around. I don’t need the warmest, lightest, uber-gear to bivouac just under the summit of the next peak I’m bagging. Don’t get me wrong; I love to geek out on gear with the best of them, but that’s not the kind of stuff I actually use day to day. I live in, work in, and love the Southern Appalachian mountains, and I work a (mostly) normal job.
This is why I love the Cotopaxi Teca Calido, it is the perfect jacket for my everyday life that can pull double duty on early morning bouldering session, mid-morning snowball fights, and late nights around the fire.

Warm, light, and durable!!I actually wore this around Ecuador (hiking Cotopaxi volcanoe) in the winter and have travelled elsewhere in the world with this jacket. I have put it to some extreme tests and it has held up really well. It’s very light and surprisingly warm! I would definitely recommend this jacket. However, do be very careful with the zipper when packing it into the small portable pocket square for storage. Other than this the jacket is very durable and you can feel good about wearing it since it is from recycled/up-cycled material. Also, if you have some larger sides or a dad bod, it make help to go up a size.

Versatile hooded jacketI just picked this jacket up today. I wanted something thin and lightweight to wear in 40-60 degree weather, and to wear under my shell when it gets colder. I am 5'8" and 130 or so, and a small fits well length wise, but a little baggy around the gut area, but I am enjoying the relaxed look. The sleeves are nice and long, which I appreciate. The touch of the fabric is really soft and smooth and feels like a sleeping bag. If I could change one thing, like other reviewers had mentioned, Is to have the hood be a little smaller. Unless the zipper is zipped all the way to the chin, the hood drapes over my eyes. Otherwise, it is a great jacket that I think could be used for a wide range of circumstances.

Excellent jacket for almost everythingWow, this jacket is everything I’ve been looking for. It’s a stylish, lightweight jacket that is quite warm for its build. It is best for casual wear anywhere- out on the town, in the outdoors, or just at work (I work outside). I will say it is not the most breathable- you will probably get hot if doing moderate physical activity. But if you just need a warm light jacket for cruising around in the cold, this is it. On top of that, if you dont really dig the eye catching multi color designs these jackets feature, you can turn in inside out to a simple solid color. Get too warm? Easy, just pack it into its chest pocket for easy storage. Fantastic jacket especially for its price I would highly recommend.

Amazing jacketThis is about my 5th product from Cotopaxi and this one doesn't disappoint! It's light enough to fit in my backpack, which is the Vaya 18L, but warm enough to not carry anything else. My first day I got caught in an NYC pour and didn't get wet at all. It does run a tad bit smaller than I thought, I have a big chest so it's a bit tighter at the bottom when zipped. Maybe if it was looser at the bottom? I'm only nitpicking, I still love the jacket! I only bought it for the blue side, but the reversible side with different colors is great as well. Thanks for putting great products out!

Teca Cálido (color Space Station)My Teca Cálido (color Space Station) was delivered a few days ago and so far I absolutely love it. Looks great (both sides), feels light, comfortable and warm. From previous purchases I knew the sizes of Cotopaxi run a bit large (I'm 190 cm tall and slim built and an M sits wide and large with me), so I ordered an S-size. It's more a narrow fit now of course, but I can easily wear the cotopaxi full zip hoodie under it and that combo works even for really low degrees (just above zero Celsius). I like that you can wear it both sides, like having 2 new jackets for the price of 1.

Fun colors and warm, but huge hoodI bought a small of the Space Station color scheme. I love the reversibility-- one side has darker, cool colors, and the other side is a vibrant burnt orange. As others have mentioned, the bottom hem and wrists have elastic bands which I actually like because it creates a snug and warm feeling. The jacket is warm and water repellent, and is perfect for San Francisco weather. The only downside is the hood: it is huge, and there is no drawstring to tighten it. I am not able to see much of anything if I have the hood up since it covers my eyes almost completely. If you are looking for a rain jacket, I would probably look elsewhere, but this is a great jacket for these breezy, chilly days when you don't need a hood.

Looks greats, fits okay. The jacket does a nice job of repelling rain, even in a heavier downpour. I’ve only used it as a day-to-day jacket so I’m not sure how it would fare on a hike. The bottom of the jacket (around the waist) is tight and inflexible. Not the worst issue, but it makes the fit feel tight. It tends to want to sit higher on my waist which creates an excess of fabric so the hood is high on my head when using it. It makes it awkward when turning my head because the hood doesn’t turn with me. The fabric isn’t very breathable, so I tend to overheat in stagnant air (indoors).
Overall, the jacket has flaws that are kind of disappointing but it works well as a rain jacket and looks really nice. I think I’ll be keeping it for a while.

HOW to MEASURE
CHEST: With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the circumference around the fullest part of your chest.
WAIST: With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the full circumference of your natural waist (at the crease when you bend to one side).
HIPS: With the tape measure parallel to the ground, measure the circumference of the fullest part of your hips (usually around the top of your thighs, where they connect to your torso).
SLEEVES: Starting at the base of your neck, measure along your shoulder, then down to the wrist. Your elbow should be slightly bent.
INSEAM: Holding the tape measure vertically, measure straight down from your crotch to the floor. Take this measurement without shoes on.
TIPS • Use a flexible tape measure. If possible, have someone help you take measurements. • Wear something light and close-fitting - like leggings and a t-shirt - so your clothes don't add to the measurements. • Don't wear anything thick or heavy, like jeans or a jacket. • Stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart.
