The Merrell Youth Trail Quest Shoe is a kids shoe for the rugged outdoors. The upper is constructed with mesh and leather, providing your young one's feet with breathability and durable protection against trail debris. Take 'em for a family hike at the local park, or bring 'em camping and watch them explore the woods nearby. The outsole is of M Select GRIP with directional lugs to give them traction necessary on hard pack dirt trails and playgrounds. Corded laces with a hook and loop closure make it easy for them to slip 'em on and secure them to their preference, without the help of mom or dad.

Comfortable, flexible and funThese are the run and jump like a super hero kind of shoes. At least that has been what my son has been doing for over two weeks now. He also wears them for our daily two mile walk/hikes to get us out of the house for awhile. I wanted shoes for when my son started school, but he out grew his old shoes and needed them sooner. I was hoping for comfortable and well made shoes. So far these shoes have reached every expectation.
It might be helpful to know, my son is 10 years old, super rough on shoes, his feet are wide and flat. We bought the orange and gray shoes in a size 6. The shoes already looked wide, so we just got the regular instead of the wide shoes.

Perfect for active little boys!!Bought these for my four year old son who needed better shoes than his everyday sneakers for our frequent hiking excursions in Texas. I bought a half size bigger to give him some wiggle room and room to grow and he loves them! They’ve done well on rocky Hill Country trails and, providing they still fit, he’ll wear them in Rockies this summer. The treads are great and the soles seem sturdy and he can run up trails much better than in his Nikes! They’re also super easy for him to get on and off himself!

Fell apart in 3 weeksI bought these for my 4 year old daughter, who is very hard on shoes, thinking they would hold up better than constantly buying cheaper brand sneakers. She came home from a day of playing in the park with her preschool with the elastic lace broken and the rubber part of the shoe separating from the cloth part on the side. We've only had the shoes about 3 weeks. Still deciding if it was just a defective pair and will try again or if we will just try a different brand. My daughter loved these shoes so I'm sad they've just fallen apart!

Trail QuestI love these shoes, and this is the 3rd. pair I have purchased for my son. Unfortunately, he has worn them for less than a month and the sole that wraps up to the big toe is already coming away from the fabric. I am disappointed for the 1st time with Merrell

Great ShoeWe bought these shoes for our NH visit. They were comfortable right out of the box and my daughter wore them on a long hike right away. Great for jumping over rocks and balancing while stepping through rivers. She was able to get them on and off quickly and easily herself. Fit true to size.
