Durable, comfortable, compactComfy and well-insulating, compact and relatively light. So happy it doesn't leak. Came back to Thermarest after a brief attempt using another brand of sleeping pad which did not end well. Sorry I ever left! This is my 3rd Thermarest pad; the first two provided a collective 15 years of good sleep outdoors. Looking forward to many more with my new pad. Non-rectangular shape takes a little more finesse when rolling up. Also, if stuff sack had a strap on the bottom that would help me pull the pad out of the bag easier!

Cozy, Warm Comfortable Backcountry sleepIf there is one thing I will not compromise on; it's gear that will give me a good nights rest. After expending an exuberant number of calories and lugging a monster pack up a mountain, I look forward to a warm comfortable sleep. I purchased the women's Prolite Plus (an earlier make of it) back in 2011. This was my first real backpacking mattress. Compared to what I was trying to sleep on prior, this changed everything for me. Until this point I thought it was impossible to get a good sleep when camping. Warm, soft, cozy, it's easy to drift off on this mattress. In addition to providing a comfortable sleep, the ProLite Plus is light and rolls up to a small size. I fit mine right inside my backpack. It's also completely durable, it took me 5 years of regular use before I managed to puncture it. I definately recommend this product to anyone looking for a good sleep while Backpacking. I've spent many nights on this mattress, places including the West Coast Trail, Nootka Island, Juan de Fuca trail, Skaftefall Park Iceland, Garibaldi Park, Strathcona Park, to name a few. I only recently switched to the NeoAir XTherm, because these days I do more trekking on snow then solid ground. I did find I was getting chilly at night while trying to sleep on snow using the Prolite Plus, perhaps pushing this piece of gear to its limits. If snow is more your thing I would really recommend going for the NeoAir XTherm.

Two Wheeled Nomad from
This thing has revolutionised campingWhen people reveal that they don't like camping, I'm always intrigued to ask why. Invariably, I'm told that their lack of canvas-love primarily comes down to the cold, wet weather or an uncomfortable night's sleep. Admittedly, torrential downpours wouldn't necessarily be my preferred choice when sleeping outdoors, but achieve around eight undisturbed, cozy hours in your 'Dome Sweet Dome' and you can pretty much face anything the next day. Although you can hardly blame folks when they grimace at the thought of those paper-thin, yoga-style roll mats, which might be ideal for assuming the downward-facing dog position, but are simply unable to adequately insulate the body, let alone accommodate it with any lasting comfort throughout the dark wee hours. Forget the morning dynamic stretching, waking up chilled and to a spine that's in bits the following morning is unappealing to the back and beyond. Thanks to Therm-a-Rest's 40 years of innovation in outdoor comfort, their Research and Development team has evolved a sleeping mattress that will conveniently take care of your needs while slumbering soundly the whole night through. Identical in its redesign, weight, pack-size, material, thickness and width as the ProLite Plus-bar the colour-the women's ProLite Plus mattress outwardly looks the same as the regular ProLite Plus equivalent. The only variables, other than the cayenne exterior, comprise a standard length of 5-foot 5-inches and its supreme insulation against the slow transfer of heat-measured in R-values. Due to a special pattern incorporated in Therm-a-Rest's selective density diagonal-cut foam, the women's ProLite Plus pad comes in at a whopping 4.2 R-value, which compared to the ProLite Plus at 3.4, really does make the mattress the hot choice for anyone with a tendency to feel the cold when temperatures drop. Designed with the aid of extensive thermal imaging data from sleeping men and women, the die-cut pattern employed is very specific to achieve maximum weight savings, comfort and warmth. In the women's mattresses, fewer die-cuts are made in areas where more warmth is needed-the hips, feet and torso areas of the mattress. Anatomically, the added hip foam provides added support for side sleepers, a thoughtful detail and made from Atmos foam, reduces overall weight by nearly 10 per cent. Namely, the best just got better for women. As a woman, have I noticed any notable differences between the ProLite Plus and the women's equivalent? Actually, yes. As someone that is 5-foot, 5-inches, the women's ProLite Plus is akin to Cinderella's slipper; it fits me perfectly. And because its length is shorter, conveniently takes up less room in the tent. Describing myself as "nesh"-namely I'm the first one to feel the chill-the mattress does feel a little warmer, further increasing my comfort levels during cold night camping. More so when I'm able to ditch the canvas for sleeping on the ground directly beneath the stars. Aside from the fact that it's an exceptionally light, four-season self-inflating pad, it's perfect for any cold sleeper that fits on the mattress, regardless of gender, looking for a boost in their overnight warmth. Conclusion Complete with a limited lifetime warranty, Therm-a-Rest mattresses are guaranteed for the life of the product against defects in materials and workmanship, where automatic repair or replacement will take place. Ultra compressible, whether you're an ounce-counting mountaineer, a luggage-conscious wanderer or an indulgent, road-tripping fun hog, the ProLites are body-warming no brainers. And for me, the women's version has the finishing touch on true outdoor comfort.

Own 2 - both holding strong with Loads of patchesI aquired both of mine (1 full, 1 3/4 length) at used gear stores. Both had impressive holes in them - 1 was ripped and 1 looked like it got too close to a heat element. I tend to be thrifty so with a little rip stop tape and seam grip both pads have excellent patches. That was over apprx 8 years ago and both are still hanging in there with not the slightest leak. I've used these on over 100 days working in the field, and love the luxury of laying my head down on a bit of cushion. I also love how compact the 3/4 length gets - allows space in the pack for other things without turning my pack into a hulking behemoth. Honestly wouldn't consider any other company for a sleeping pad!

My favourite piece of gearI purchased my Prolite 4 Reg Women´s (as it was called then) back in 2005 (!) and it has served me well during all these years. Never any problem with leakage, punctures or anything. Even though it is heavier and bulkier than many of the air mattresses available today, I love the sturdiness (I am less concerned about it getting punctures and have even used it directly on the ground), the lack of noice, and how it actually self-inflates - no need to blow my lungs out or use a pump sack. It just rolls out and in a couple of minutes it is ready. I have used mine on long winter trips in Alaska (together with a Z-Lite), at Svalbard, and in the mountains of Norway all seasons. Sadly, last week I forgot it outside in our yard after drying it in the sun, and during the night our robot mower went over it, creating several long cuts up in the valve area and at the bottom. I have tried to fix it but it was beyond repair. Nearly 15 years of heavy use and so many memories connected to it, I am not mentally capable of throwing it yet.

Comfortable but SHORTER than the specs saysI just bought the women`s prolite plus. I can`t talk about durability but seems a good product and is very comfortable. The problem that I had is that is actually SHORTER than the specifications, at the label of the regular size you can read that the lenght is 66 inches but is 1.6 inches shorter. Take this into account when you buy your matress. Is a pity that the company is not reliable in its meassures because the product seems wonderfull.

Great for Years! This is the first camping pad I bought as an adult and I've been car camping with it since 2013. It's still going strong and has never leaked or had a hole. I've always woken up well rested with it.

Great mattress!I'm a Peace Corps volunteer serving in Burkina Faso, West Africa. I sleep on this mattress every night. It's very comfortable. My own only wish is that it were longer. I'm short to begin with (5'2) but when I use a pillow with this mattress my feet hang off the end.
