First Trail Runners for Backpacking[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm an avid backpacker who has sworn by boots for years. This is my first pair of trail runners and I'm positively impressed. The two things I love the most are the wide foot box and the tread. The tread really grabs onto rough, rocky terrain. The *only* thing I miss about my boots is the goretex. I don't miss the weight or immediately wanting to take them off at the end of a long day on trail. I have plantar fasciitis and boots had become painful to backpack in. The pain in my feet has actually since I've switched to these Altras. I took a chance in buying them, having never worn Altras before *and* having never worn trail runners while backpacking before, and I don't regret it.
I did buy the same size as my boots, so 1/2 size larger than daily shoes for hiking/backpacking, and the fit is great.

Great trail shoes[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These were recommended by my running coach and I love them! They are waterproof, very comfortable, had lots of room in the toes, perfect winter trail running shoes.

I really like these.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These were the 4th pair of hiking shoes I bought.
I ended up picking these to wear to hike the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon.
They were the best.

Love My Yrail Runners!After using my new trail runners, I decided to purchase another pair. Found the Altra TR in my size and on sale at Mountain Steals! Needed zero drop for long distance and due to a sprained ankle, my doctor recommended a shoe with no heel—these work perfectly and I can fit the brace inside the shoe as well. Didn’t want to get short without a shoe that works perfectly so was happy to find Mountain Steals.

Lots of toe room![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I love these shoes. They are light and airy (better for warmer weather), have great traction, no inside slipping and lots of toe room.
