Rated 5 out of 5 by from Divorced my Hokas for the Olympus! Been with Hokas since their original shoes but as I age, my already wide duck foot has gotten wider. I went out on a limb with the Olympus 3.5 and was disappointed with the limited toe box so in looking at the new 4.0, again went out on a limb. LOVE the new updates! Foot actually has room to wear my Injinji toe socks. I trail run and road/gravel run. To no fault of the shoe, in months I run on road/gravel, my wear patterns on the sole of shoe really get beat down. Love the pull loop on heel, and heel counter more durable, not apt to fold down when trying to get into shoe quickly. Wish they would make a hybrid trail/road shoe with the same "mold". :).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still comfortable but do not like the change to the tongue I previously ordered the Olympus 3.5. It was the only shoe I could comfortably wear at work after my osteotomy for arthritis in my toe. After reading reviews complaining about new model changes on other Altra items I decided to order an extra pair. I'm about to take that extra pair in to work, so I came back to get more and had to order the new version. I like the change to the look, and over all I like the fit. But I do not like the thinner tongue. I like to leave my shoes tied and slip them on and off, I can't do that with the new thin tongue. It's very strange they would change a style so drastically. Wish I could go back in time and stock up on the 3.5. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from every day use I am awestruck by the comfort of this shoe. I have always had an issue with my feet smelling bad in a closed shoe but I can have these shoes on all day and my feet do not sweat or smell. I have great balance and NOTHING hurts not even my bunions!. I'm ready to get another pair in different color. I bought the green this time I went with a half size larger and a wide due to my sensitive bunions. They fit perfect. I really love these shoes. I have always had comfort issues with all of my previous shoes but I can't say not a single negative comment about these. I'm.so thankful I finally have a great pair of comfortable walking and everyday shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort and support right out of the box! I am a professional gardener and am on my feet all day, in all kinds of terrain. I liked the idea of wide toe box, since I have arthritic feet & most so called wide toe box shoes (like Keen) hurt my feet after a full day of being on my feet. My first Altra shoes were the LP Alpine, which are more like slippers; comfy but not supportive at all. Because of the reviews, I decided to try the Olympus 4. Wow! They hug my feet but do not pinch, they have a good arch support, and lots of cush and protection on the bottoms. I wore them all day the first day I got them and my feet (and my back) didn't hurt at all. Thank you!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Shoe! I own several pairs of Altras including the Torin 3.5, Torin 4.5 plush, but the Olympus 4 has got to be my favorite and I'm going to be ordering me another pair. I wear them 7 days a week but mostly at work standing on concrete, 6 days a week. I have severe plantars and usually wear an orthotic, but I haven't had to with these. The cushioning is amazing and the traction is incredible, even on ice, I feel stable and they feel grippy. I highly recommend the Olympus 4 and I hope Altra doesn't try and make them better because they already are the best. Nice wide toe box. Zero drop heel. Everything is wonderful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Shoes for Neuromas I've been wearing Altras for almost 4 years now. They've been great for me, but this shoe has been particularly outstanding for my neuromas. I've bought 3 pairs! I do several miles of walking every day and occasionally can run on soft surfaces. I have to use orthotics, but they fit in the shoe easily. I can wear these shoes all day with great comfort. I even bought a pair for my husband, who doesn't at all have my feet problems... and he loves running in them. He said it improved the way his knees felt. So five stars!! Altra... It would be great if you would consider an all black pair!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Got me through the Camino I bought these shoes the week before I left for hiking the Camino. I had tried five other brands of trail runners and each gave me terrible blisters and bruised toenails. I was a little nervous about taking these shoes without properly breaking them in but figured I would be wearing my sandals most of the time anyway. In the end, I wore these shoes all but two days in the trail. No break-in required. My feet felt like the was ample space (my foot is size 7 and I bought a size 8 shoe due to swelling) and cushioning. Great traction! I bought my own inserts to provide arch support. Wore the shoes through heat, rain, on slick rocks, paved roads - all was well. When I got home I bought a new pair!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Falling apart after a month This is my 4th pair of Altras. They seem to be the perfect shoe for my small but extremely wide feet. I love, love, love my Lone Peaks, but there's just not enough cushion for my ever worsening plantar fasciitis. So, I saved up to buy the Olympus 4. They were great right out of the box...a month or so later, not so much. I felt a hot spot on my heel after my last trip out. When I took them off I saw that the inside heel lining is completely busted on my right shoe, leaving a hole that will surely cause some issues. The left one is starting to tear too. I haven't even worn them on a run yet, only walks in the woods. I expect more from such an expensive shoe. In fact, I expect more from an inexpensive shoe!
