Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect shoe for me This is my second pair of these shoes and I love them. I both run and walk in them and they work well for both. I have wide feet and often my pinky toe gets jammed against the sides of shoes because of how I stand/move. Not every Altra works for me (e.g. Lone Peaks don't but Timps do). I had the Paradigm before the Provision and found the Provision to be the roomier/better fit of the two. Other good points: Cushioning is nice, lacing system that hugs the arches is great, heel lock lacing holes are appreciated... and the colors aren't embarrassing (like with some other shoe manufacturers). Good job, Altra team.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Durability is horrible I am a super Altra fan for the last 5 years and have owned at least 10 pairs. They have substantially helped my back pain. Love how these shoes feel and the green/white colorway is super fun but the durability is just horrible. Durability has been going downhill since the company was sold, but it's now very bad. I've had these shoes for 3.5 months and both R and L shoes have holes in the toes. For a premium priced running shoe this is unacceptable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same shoe I started wearing I bought these approximately two months ago. Have barely worn them because they make my legs ache. I started out with the 2.5 or 3. I loved them. They fit perfect. They were substantial in everything on them. Then you guys changed them. So your reb advised me to get the paradigm hated it. So I bought these they feel like the heel is made out of cardboard. The toes sink in nothing holding the cloth up. I don't feel like the guardrail is even there. Change them back please. These new ones are worthless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good road shoe I switched to this shoe on a whim, I am glad I did. Toe box is wide enough without being too big. Bottom of the shoes definitely have more traction then I am used to with running shoes. I feel like that just extends the life of the shoe. They have held up in a lot of rain storms lately and they do a decent job repelling water (until you just step deep in a puddle). They seem to last longer than other brands. Good shoes for 20+ mile weeks. The fibers do collect dirt easier than other shoes but overall great shoe. They are light weight and as someone that tends to slide on running shoes the back of the shoes really last without ruining the foam. They are easy to put on and the back tab is designed well. I wish they had more colors of this shoe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Narrow for Footshape I walk between 7-10 miles a day and find that the cushioning of the Provision is good for me. However, the footshape at the top is narrower than the Torin or other Altras I have purchased. The shoe definitely rubs the side of foot and the top of my toes. I would not recommend this shoe for anyone with bunions. I would return them and go back to the Torin, but I have worn them thinking they might loosen up after a week. They did not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I found it, the perfect shoes for my long distance races. Out of the box, I used it for my 100 mile road race! Most of the shoes I have used in the past hurt my toes I end up loosing them. This shoes fit perfectly around my toes, wide enough for my toes can move around to promote blood flow. It was the perfect cushion on those hot pavement. My hips and knees did not bother me, it was something I was waiting to happen during the race and it never bothered me and I think it was the shoes, 100%!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect stable Neutral Cushion Shoe I will agree that all Altra Shoes have laces that are too short for proper lacing and stability, please, you sell running shoes. At least include an extra pair that at minimum is 54-62in. Not a horrible thing as I always end up replacing my shoe laces for a longer ones to create heel locks. I have Cerebral Palsy and need a very stable shoe that is neutral. The Torin 5 was far too unstable and had too much cushion in the forefoot, the shoe was overall too soft to support my over-pronation. The Paradigm 6 also had too much cushion much like the Torin 5, along with sizing issues. If you wear an orthotic like I do, the higher heel cup is also an advantage. The wider toe box of this shoe is essential for my orthotics and proper alignment for my walking. It's so difficult for me to find shoes, I'll be buying another pair. Definitely grateful, thanks Atlra!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Altras I used to wear Escalantes but I got these and love them so much more. My feet don't hurt on long runs anymore because they have more cushioning and they are holding up much better than my old shoes. I have about 400 miles on my Provisions now and I always had to replace the Escalantes around 300. I also haven't got shin splints since July (knock on wood) thanks to only running in Altras. Currently buying another pair!
