Not sure yet, if I would buy these shoes again.I run 2-3 times a week. I was looking for new running shoes as my others were getting worn and causing blisters. When I fell upon these, I found that they felt good when I tried them on. After a few runs, I realized that a half size bigger would feel more comfortable. The size I ordered were just a hair too small. I contacted the website as instructed in the returns department, but have yet to hear back besides receiving an automated response about how "the email volume is high". I am apprehensive about stating that I would buy again from a company that dismisses my efforts to contact them according to their site directions.

Heck yes!Heck yes! Altra, you knocked it out of the park with this one! I have had a love hate relationship with the escalante over the years... I'm in love with the minimal to low cushion shoes but with My average to slightly more narrow feet the escalante 2.0 made me feel as if I was swimming. I would always end up with blisters on the sides of my big toes. Ugggg! Escalante racers have become my go to as they are as bit more narrow. I do however, want a shoe for my "easier" run days that I can alternate my racer with. This is it!!!!! Responsive ✔️ fit like a glove ✔️ Great for a variety of workouts and paces. ✔️ Altra kept it simple and aced it!

Not made wellThese shoes were a huge disappointment. I have purchased 8 pairs of differing styles and this was the worst in terms of too narrow, tongue causes forefoot injuries and comfort zero. I need Altras for the zero drop and wide footbed ; I suffer from it all, Morton's neuromas, sesamoids and metatarsal problems, topped off by arthritis. Over the past year I am finding Altra quality to be inconsistent and poor as new models come out. Rivera, Torin 4,4.5, and older versions of many other styles like superior, Timp and lone peak are great, , these are terrible for me. Now I roam sportswear sites searching for older models still in stock to keep on hand

Inconsistent sizing for different colorsI purchased 2 pairs (burgundy and black) 6 months ago. They are great shoes and holding up nicely (run less than 20 miles/week). I wanted a replacement pair and ordered the teal in the same size (9). When I put them on for a run, they were definitely not the same size! They might be mismarked or made at a different factory but I'm pretty disappointed there is such a huge discrepancy for sizing with different colors in the same style. The teal is about 1/2-1 size smaller than they are marked. I still love this shoe and it is my go-to for all runs (speed, hills, long).

No consistency in sizing for the brand, or in the same shoeI love my torrins and purchased riveria for an extra pair, i wear a 7.5, these are at least a full size too small in length as well as not wide enough. returned them to get another pair of torrins, and was greatly disappointed for the same reason, the ones im wearing are 7.5, the same shoe repurchased only 6 months later is too small in length and width. I was hoping to make this my new brand as my feet are..odd. however these is no consistency to sizing in the same brand, or even the same shoe. Returns take weeks to process as well. Very inconvenient. in total ive purchased and returned 4 pairs.

I will buy this again, but not in whiteI love this shoe! I have been wearing Altra shoes for many years & this is the most comfortable one I have ever worn! I don't have any foot issues & wear these for fast walking, but from the moment I put them on they were comfortable & no rubbing on my skinny heel. The reason they didn't get 5 stars is because I spot washed them yesterday & the bright orange bled through the fabric, so they are now clean, but a raspberry color around the lace area. I didn't even touch the back portion, but I now have a somewhat tie dye looking pair of sneakers. My next pair will be black. Hopefully Altra will address the issue since I love having white sneakers, especially in the summmer!

I so wanted to love this shoe...I have been wearing Altras since the very beginning, and I hate that they now seem more concerned about looks than about natural foot shape and comfort. The toe box of this shoe is so shallow that my big toe hit the top. They also are at least a half size smaller that the Torin 4, the Torin 4 Plush or the Escalante 1.5. They feel much more narrow, and were so uncomfortable I had to cut my runs short the two times I tried running in them. Sadly, I had to return them, and went back to the Torin 4. I hope this is not a trend. Altra has been my go to shoe for years.

Love RiveraUnfortunately I have a rather large toes, which has created a bunion on 1 foot due to other manufacturer shoes that squeezed my toes together in the center. The Rivera shoe is only closed toe shoe I've found that I that gives a great amount of cushion, with zero discomfort. I live downtown Chicago, and regularly walk 7+ miles a day with these shoes on and have no pain at all. The only change I would make is hire somebody else that decides on the colors, or at least let someone decide that has more fashion sense. Most of the colors are rather ghastly, and I would love to buy more in other colors if they were available. Rivera is a great product and could be huge moneymaker for altra, with the correct person making decisions.
