Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leather version great for everyday and light hike [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Note: This is for the leather version of this shoe which is no longer listed as an option on MJ. Hope they come back because they are great. I've had these for a few days and so far absolutely love them. I've had a lot of low hiking shoes and these really fit the bill for a shoe that looks good with jeans or office casual wear, and are comfortable to wear all day and still perform as decent hikers on trail. Impressions: Sizing- for reference my feet are size 13-13.5, medium width. Since 13.5 are nearly non-existent, I generally upsize to 14, especially in hikers so I have a little extra room in front, which I did with these. They fit really well in length and give just a bit extra room so I don't bang my toes going downhill. Width is just enough for me. They may be too narrow for those who normally wear wider than D width. They have a lot of volume so I had to really tighten up the laces a lot for a good fit- changing out the insole (the insole they come with are pretty basic) to a thicker insole with more arch support helped with the fit too. Performance- The vibram tread is really nice and grippy. So far I've had them trails with packed dirt and mud and they seemed to grip really well. They keep my heel nicely anchored for good stability. The sole is moderately stiff in the rear half with a good deal of flex in the forefoot. When walking over rocky terrrain I do feel it a bit, but not too bad. They are decently sturdy and stable for easier trails, although I would definitley step up to a more burly shoe or boot for more rocky trails or backpacking. Comfort- Fantastic comfort. They really are nearly as comfortable as my running shoes (something I hear claimed all the time but rarely see). The leather version does get a bit warm, but I don't mind. They have a thin perforated foam layer below the insole that adds some extra cushiness. However, the insole they come with are pretty basic, so if you want arch support, weigh in the cost of after market insoles with your purchase. I added some Spenco total support insoles and they paired very well with these shoes. Durability: From my initial impressions they seem pretty durable, but only have had them a little while. Time will tell. I'm bummed the leather version is no longer listed on MJ. Hopefully that doesn't mean Asolo is discontinuing them, because they are excellent quality and value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Went to Alaska to help daughter move. We drove the Alaska highway. Wanted only one pair of shoes for the trip. These were great (looks and comfort) for casual wear and I’ve now had them on dirt trails, rocky trails and wet trails and they’ve performed great. Great shoe, great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight shoes! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used it for walking around Piedmont Park in Atlanta it’s a great lightweight hiking shoe on wet pavement or grass it grips the ground very well. Next stop for me and this shoe is hiking up Stone Mountain I am confident it will serve me well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor traction [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a big fan of a Asolo products and owner of multiple pairs of Asolo shoes, I have been disappointed with the traction of these shoes. In fact the first time I wore them on rocks I slipped and was lucky to catch myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, solid boot [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very pleased with my purchase. The shoes run large however. I’m athletic shoes, I wear a 12. I bought an 11.5 and they are still a bit big. Other than that, I love the shoe

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Already my favorite hiking shoe [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoe is comfortable and fits perfectly (amazing for a shoe bought online) and has the right amount of padding where I need it for my 6 mile hikes.
