FlawAs with the other reviewer and others on REI's website, the light does not stay on bright. It will decide on its own to go completely dim, leaving you with a light that doesn't shine more than a foot in front of you if that. I went through 2 sets of batteries (one set came with it, one set I had bought recently) and both times it did this.
The features of this light are great. The 2 button design is great. The memory feature of the last setting is a great feature too. Brightness is amazing and all lamps are just right.
Fix this issue and this light would be my go to.

same issues, but it took about a monthI thought I found the ideal lamp. Comfortable, bright, versatile. It took a while to get used to the one touch/swipe/super bright feature, but then I really enjoyed it. I love the functio switch as compared toone switch controlling all functions and dimming. After about 30-45 days of use, with batteries (supplied Duracell alkalines), the light went from my setting to ultra dim. I thought it was the batteries being depleted, but they were only at 50%. The next day, no problems for 10 minutes, then same thing. I did discover that green LED is great for dog walking, and no weird dimming issues. Definitely not happy.

Amazing light, people are using wrong batteriesI've had this headlamp for around 6 months now and I love it. It seems that a lot of people are having problems with the headlamp going dim after a few hours. To these people I recommend using Lithium Batteries instead of Alkaline. Lithium can provide full current all the way to battery depletion.
Great headlamp. I absolutely love the green nightvision mode. A lot of people I've been hiking with have bought the same one after seeing me with it and lending it to them.

Great light but need good batteriesI'v done some measurements:
@6V, Power full here are the current measurements:
Full power (both white leds): 680mA
@6V, lowest power:
Power reserve activates under 3,1V
All the measurements are done with a bench power supply so that the results are not affected by the quality of some batteries.
Reading the numbers means that an 800mAh NiMh rechargeable set will drain after 1h at full power. If the quality of the batteries are low then they will have a higher voltage drop for a higher current, resulting in activating the power saving mode.
Recomendation is to use the highest quality of batteries (rechargeables) available. If quality is low avoid full power!
This is the downside of using high power leds. (All other high power headlight use LiIon rechargeable batteries with high capacity >2000mAh)

Great torch - but Powertap no longer works..Got the previous Storm with 500 lumens late last year for my ultra paddle board race. 220km and the torch did its thing perfectly for the night slog in rain and morning fog. But just last week when I took it out of the bag to take it camping, I noticed that the Powertap sensor on the side no longer works. I use it sparingly, usually at its dimmest and only Powertap it when I need it on demand. But that's no longer working. Now I'm forced to use the dimmer mode with the cycle loop from the main top button and not getting much response even after mailing support with the problem I got. I hope warranty is as good as it says.. Barely a year.

storm 375 headlampI bought this headlamp to increase the light levels when biking and trail running in recreation time through the winter months but primarily for work.I spend a lot of time in remote parts of the country in all weathers. All the good points around good design, construction don't really matter as I find the headlamp utterly useless. I've used it twice with good quality batteries and within 30-40 minutes on full beam it goes dim as the batteries have been drained of power. Its not cold at this time of year so its not that.
The lamp just cant stay on full power for long using alkaline batteries. Its a big thumbs down from me and not something I can work around. It just doesnt work to a level I need it to.

Great All Around-erI have had several head lamps in the past and just picked up this new version of the Storm about a month ago. I am a Single Pitch Instructor and work outdoors in the early morning and late evenings often. I LOVE the features of this lamp such as the color options, flood light and beam light modes, the max power touch mode and the lock function. I thought these features would be gimmicks at fist, but have found them to be extremely useful in the backcountry. My only complaint is unremarkable head band and the weight and bulk of the lamp. Other than that, it's the best all around head lamp on the market. -CW

The best headlamp I own!I got my first storm375 more than a year ago. I use it for everything from working on my car to multipitch ice climbing on alpine start days. To run it at full power you will be changing the batteries after about 8-12 hours of use, which is worth it to me when I can see my climbing partner 40 meters away on a climb during a blizzard. Overall it works great: the functions are simple to control, the battery lasts quite well when used on lower settings and the lock mode keeps it from switching on in my bag much better than other similar headlamps I’ve used. The only thing that can be improved is the buckle doesn’t fit the elastic as tightly as it could, and therefore the strap comes loose periodically when I’m just wearing the headlamp without a hat/helmet.
