FEATURES of the Black Diamond Ergo Cork Trekking Pole-Pair

  • A versatile pole with an ergonomically-angled grip with natural cork.
  • Cork Grips: insulating, lightweight and moisture wicking.

If the product name has the word "pair" in it, that means it comes with TWO trekking poles. If the product name says "single" or has options to select a size, it means that particular style only comes with ONE trekking pole. Sorry to be so confusing. Please don't hate me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Trekking Poles Great trekking poles. Quality has been outstanding. The locks hold their place after long hikes. The bent ergo handles help "flick" the poles forward and are very comfortable. The poles have helped increase my cadence. I have also found that trekking poles are a must have for creek crossings; Instead of tip toeing across or taking your boots off, you can brace yourself with the poles. The poles also are a great assistance when hiking down hill or on rocky trails and help stabilize you particularly if you're trying to maintain a fast pace. I have had these poles for about a year and have used them on longer day hikes (17 to 21 miles) and I would strongly recommend them. NO complaints!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent poles! (just not marmot-proof) I use them for hiking / climbing numerous 14ers in Colorado on snow climbs, rock and trails. Very comfortable, light and durable. This is my 2nd pair, only because my first pair was destroyed when marmots consumed the handles, straps and cork when I cached them at 12,000'! great service and fast shipping by BD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent. Took a real beating I bought these poles for an Oct hike in NH. I was on trails of granite slab and boulders a majority of the time and these stood up to a nasty beating. I hiked about 55 miles and these were with me all but 8 miles of that. They saved me from keeling over numerous times and are a little chewed up by the gnarly granite; but there are no bends or dents. Could these have bent? Sure; had they dropped in between some granite while I was moving wrong; or I could have slipped or moved the wrong way and while a pole sank down deep in some moss; but I was aware of this constantly and was careful. I couldn't ask more of these poles but perhaps to magically propel me up the mountains!! :-).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, Adjustable, Useful I've had a set of these poles for about 3-4 years now. They're great. They hold up well to abuse. The flicklock feature works great, is field adjustable (with a screwdriver), and is dependable. The aluminum pole shafts can take a bit of abuse, and hold up well. The cork grips have also held up well for me. The wrist strap is comfortable, and easy to adjust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ergo's the Name of the Game Folks in need of a solid, erg-designed product will be happy with the Trail Ergo Cork. Solid, reliable build. Durability with reliable locking mechanism means these poles will last & perform. The cork handles are integral for comfort & wear. We're retired baby boomers living in northern AZ who are on the trails regularly. These Ergo Trek poles are exactly what we need. And trust me, regardless of age, trekking poles reduce the kinetic forces that wear down joints, muscles & energy. We learned that the hard way & won't go anywhere without our Ergo poles. Use them as a pair or hike with a single pole on less arduous trails. Bottom line is comfort & versatility. Equally impressive was the prompt free delivery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great help These poles have really improved my performance in the woods. I'm 6'5 and these poles stretch out nice for downhill or uphill. A very wise purchase if you are a big man

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice poles I bought these in anticipation of a backpacking trail that has some beaver dam crossings and some rugged terrain where I thought they'd help. They did a good job and didn't disappoint, offering quick adjustment and comfortable handles. The cork grips started adapting to my hands right away. Two minor things that prevent a five-star rating: although my hands aren't especially large, the grips feel a little small after hiking a while. The straps provide less support and aid in controlling the poles than I'm used to with XC ski poles. And finally, one of the poles slowly slipped a few cm shorter over the course of a more technical part of the trail. I tightened the cam a tiny bit with my pocket knife, which seemed to relieve that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent poles These poles carried me from Springer to Katahdin last summer, and they did it with style. The cork grips are wonderful in your hand, and the very slight tilt of the grip gives the poles a natural feel. I broke a tip in the Pennsylvania rocks, but thankfully black diamond offers a full line of replacement parts for their poles. Baskets, straps, tips, and even the flick locks are all replaceable. The locks worked well, although every 400 miles or so I had to tighten one of them up with a screwdriver, as it would slowly slide down if the poles were wet. This could have been remedied by putting some more loc-tite on the screw to prevent it from wiggling loose. These poles aren't the lightest on the market, but they are a good bang for your buck, and I think that they will serve me well for many years to come.
