Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, comfy and durable! I've been wearing ski, bike and climbing helmets for 20 years, this is one of the best. The Vapor is lightweight, super comfy and durable. One major complaint I've heard is that these lightweight helmets don't last. I've been stuffing mine into my pack, which I am not careful with, smacking my head on overhangs, and generally abusing mine for several years now and it is still good to go. Another complaint is that they are uncomfortable or heavy. Well at 6 OZ you can protect your mellon and not sweat the weight. It's so light and comfy I often forget it's on my head. If your looking for a lightweight helmet that you don't have to baby look no further!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this soley on the reviews I am a woman that hates high profile helmets. I started climbing with an Ecrin Roc years ago... ... have been using a BD Half Dome and hated the fit. The Vapor is what girls want! Great ventilation. Huge and comfortable size adjustability. Soft webbing feel on the chin strap. I can easily slip my pony-tail between the helmet and occipital strap that sits at the base of the skull. Good job BD. Spend the extra bucks and get this helmet. Like everyone else, I forget its on my head. I will wear it all day, which is great because I am usually busy teaching others, so I can naturally rolemodel one more safe practice in climbing at no inconvenience of comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Audi of helmets I had it on all day and literally forgot I was wearing it. It's super light, has very low clearance over the top of my dome, and has great air circulation. The adjustments system on the Vapor is so quick and easy, you can ratchet it tighter with one hand while you're wearing it and not get your hair stuck in the system. I snugged mine down so tight it didn't budge. Even with it tight I had great circulation and didn't overheat. The chin strap is tight and easy to adjust. I can't speak to its longevity but one weekend at Red Rocks and I'm loving it. Despite the high price tag, I can honestly say I'm very impressed. This is definitely the Audi of helmets.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Harness for Big Heads I've used this helmet over two years climbing ice and alpine as well as skiing. My head is larger than most. I really like the helmet for the first hour, the first two hours if I'm wearing a beanie under it. It adjusts easily, even with gloves, and fits securely. The construction is also great. I much prefer the construction and adjustments to the all-foam helmet we have. The biggest problem is, with my head shape, the plastic in the back digs in to the bony protuberances three inches behind my ears on the back of my skull and starts to give me a headache. My wife doesn't have that problem, so it may just be those of us with disproportionately large heads who have issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This helmet saved my life I took a 100 foot fall in this helmet, the helmet was destroyed but I was able to limp away to be rescued by helicopter. I don't really like to think about what would have happened if I did not have this helmet on. I was on a route that most would not carry a helment, but I did because 1. this helmet is extremely light and 2 I'm a little risk adverse. I will be buying another one once I am able to get back at it and will be wearing almost all the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This helmet saved my life I can confidently say I would be dead without it. I suffered a broken neck, traumatic brain injury, and a month in the hospital from my fall. Wear a helmet!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best head protection ever... Been using the the Vapor Helmet for several years for all my mountain activities. Really like the lightweight. Can't almost feel that one is wearing a helmet. Fits well and the cooling system works doubtless... Use it for private and also for guiding purposes. The headband and the chinstrap is very easy to adjust and stays all day long in the correct position. Headlamp is simple to attach. Can recommend this product for sommer and winter adventures... clever heads protect their heads...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet lid! This is by far the most comfortable climbing helmet I've used to date. It is intended to be a super light, breathable, lower profile lid that you don't mind wearing. I found all of these claims to be true. It is not going to be as durable as some other hard plastic lids, which is why I kept my plastic helmet for winter. That being said, The Vapor survived a week of Red Rock multi-pitch routes with just a few scuffs and nicks. Head never felt hot and harness system is first class. Brilliant piece, meets all expectations.
