Rated 5 out of 5 by from This helmet keeps saving lives This helmet has saved the lives of two of my friends. To be blunt, I am fairly certain neither of them would be alive without it. The first was a very serious accident at Indian Creek involving a cut rope, decking a ledge, flying blocks, and near death. Google "hanging by a thread". The second was a party-induced rockfall that resulted in a 70ft fall in the Cascades. Both were close calls, and in both cases the patient's Vector helmets were mangled, yet intact. It was clear that without them the outcome would have likely been gravely different. I happily own 2 Vectors and won't be caught without one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight Beauty I don't like wearing helmets. They add extra weight, restrict movement, and make my egg-shaped head look goofy(er). But Vector helmet was a game changer for me. Really light, yet still sturdy, it packs very nicely with the new tack-away system. The straps are narrow and adjust really well. Good ventilation system and lightness of the helmet make it super comfortable in warm Californian climate. Yes, dents and scratches are very apparent but they don't seem to compromise the durability of the helmet (and add some character). Bright orange color provides some hotness to the overall look but... does not help with the shape of my head (oh, well).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great helmet! The Vector is a great helmet - I tried it out with a quick run up Yellow Spur in Eldo in howling wind on a sunny Saturday. The shape is solid, fits even my small diameter head snugly, with no sloppy moving around as you look up, down and sideways for gear. It was light enough and fit well enough that I forgot I had it on, and that is the most important thing for a helmet other than the safety benefits. All in all, great product. One small request for improvement - the padding on the forehead was fairly scratchy, either due to extra Velcro or maybe the thread where it was sewn. It was minor, and I'll find a fix for that soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and breathable The first time I used this helmet I put a dent in the top. I was trying to put it in the top of my bag and pushed down on it a bit too hard I guess.... This helmet is lightweight, and breathable. It also works! I took a large rock to the helmet and the helmet protected me. I bought a second one due to excessive shell damage after that. I like using this a lot. I will say that the profile is a bit bigger than I would like and it frequently gets in the way when I am climbing. It also looks goofy in some pictures ;) All-in-all this is the best helmet I have ever owned, but I am still searching for my perfect helmet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from fits a very round head I hate climbing helmets, but I am trying to find one I like so I will wear it. My quest continues. The fit is for a Asian round head (I have several Asian friends). Or maybe Charlie Brown. It doesn't fit your typical oval anglo head very well. I bought the m/l. When I size it to fit the length of my head, there are big gaps on the sides. It doesn't fit nearly as well as say my Giro mountain bike helmet or my Smith Ski helmet. Fits more like a Bell mountain bike helmet. It is very light weight and does have a nice mountain bike helmet adjustment on the back. I like that it will hold a head lamp. I just don't have a Charlie Brown head...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vector Helmet Review This is a great product. It fits well, is super light, and provides excellent coverage. There are two things that I have run into that would make this even better. Make the headlamp clips permanent instead of removable. As a mountain guide, I use them all the time, and I've already lost them. I understand it makes the helmet lighter, but at an inconvenient cost. I catch the helmet adjustment system on my backpack all the time, and on my hoods as I pull them up, over and around. This loosens the helmet. While the system is very easy to readjust, this can get annoying. For those climbing without packs or hoods, this is a fantastic helmet. Thanks BD for the high quality products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit, quality construction I bought this helmet for backcountry skiing / climbing. While not a skiing helmet, this is much lighter and easier to pack in a day pack and it is cooler than an alpine style helmet. Being that backcountry skiing is a much more aerobic activity than lift served skiing regular alpine helmets are just too warm for me. So far this helmet meets the intent perfectly and will provide more protection for my melon than all those times that I left the ski helmet in the truck because it was too hard to pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and Large I have a big old noggin. That is the primary reason I bought this helmet. My head is a full 24 inches in circumference. Most other helmets only go to 24 or 24.5. With a beanie on I need something larger and this fit the bill. I also really like how light it is, the less weight the better right? The adjustment system is adequate, but I wish it had the wheel you can turn to adjust rather than the adjustment on this helmet. It requires 2 hands to adjust and is not as easy as a wheel with gloves on.
