Pertex Microlight

Pertex Microlight
Pertex Microlight is a durable, well-balanced fabric that excels at protecting your insulation. It is lightweight, yet abrasion resistant and will resist the elements. Your insulation will be free to trap and maintain your body warmth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit, washes well I bought this for an all-around puffy. It's warm, fits great, and is easy to wash without getting clumpy or losing warmth. I'm very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile jacket! This jacket is great! It’s warm enough to ski in, yet light enough to wear in moderate temps. The fit is true to size and I love that the sleeves are long! It is not bulky, and is fitted enough to wear around town. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great color and fit I got the Rhône color in small. I’m 5’5-6 and around 120-125 it fits great I could easily wear a layer comfortably underneath if I wanted. It’s super warm and light. I could stow it in my pack with little room. I wear it everyday.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like it, don't love it. This is a good functional jacket. I am impressed with the down/primaloft blend. The jacket got wet in my touring pack, but maintained loft keeping me warm while also drying fast. Texturally it took some getting used to as it maintains more structure when compressed. It is still quite packable especially for a hooded jacket and fits no problem in my small touring pack. It has kept me warm under a shell down to 10F and was too warm for powder skiing at the same temps. The fit is spot on. I am 5'6" 120lbs and the small is perfect, roomy enough to have a base layer and a light vest on underneath. I am disappointed with the hood closure system. It fits over my helmet just fine, but doesn't synch around the face so well as it only has the pull tab on the back of the hood. When the hood is synched down tight it doesn't close the hood allowing wind and snow to get near my ears, see photo. Something to think about if you don't have something on under your helmet. Overall it is a keeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm and durable! Super useful on cold weather/climate expeditions such as Aconcagua. I actually bought two of these, a bright color for cragging/expedition climbing and a black version for around town. Incredible versatile and warm!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not proportioned properly. I bought this online and chose a size large based on the sizing chart provided. I am dissapointed because the jacket fits great in the bust and waist but the arms are so widely cut there is an extra 2 inches of fabric in the sleeves. I like to have room to move but this a lot of extra space. I should have ordered a size down. Its a shame because I bought it to wear as a midlayer so I was hoping for a closer to body fit to eliminate cold air getting in. The jacket seems to be good quality but I actually haven't worn it out. I will not keep this jacket because of the fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Winter Adventures! I have used this jacket twice now. Both times, I was snowshoeing in Colorado, windy and around 25-30 degrees. I wore this with only a base layer underneath and I stayed plenty warm. I even had to unzip it going uphill. The hood fits nicely over a hat and cinches down to stay put. Lightweight, warm... what more could I ask for in a down puffy?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My wife loves it Got this jacket for my wife and she loves it. She had worn out her very thick down jacket and wished to have a thinner one. I thought of getting the Forge Down at first, but I was afraid it wouldn't be warm enough. Glad I went with the Cold Forge it isn't too thick, packs down real small and keeps her warm. Plus it looks great on her.
