Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Shell Jacket I've owned Living in an interior rainforest in BC, I find it very hard to find a jacket that works for those off season days where it's cold, rainy but no snow. I work in outdoor education and this jacket is a great fit. Fits the right layers underneath and I can still move freely. Since I've bought it in November I am looking to test it in winter where we get lots of snow but its very warm here. But mostly I bought it for the summer season where I need breathability but something waterproof. I think it'll be my go to jacket for hiking and climbing for sure 👍 the shipment to Canada and customer service was also phenomenal. Im hooked on Black Diamond now!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware if you intend to use the hood! The Pomegranate color is beautiful and it fits great in the body and sleeves. But the hood is ridiculously huge. There is an adjustment on the back of the hood but it doesn't pull the top back as I'd hoped. Instead it pulls the hood toward the back at about ear level but the front still hangs down over my eyes! Also when it's zipped up all the way the front is really tall. And I was disappointed that there are no inside pockets. Disappointing for the price. I didn't wear it so not sure about the quality, durability or waterproofness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Jacket, Snug At Bottom [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice jacket! I bought the pomegranate color and it’s lovely and cheerful, plus when I go walking on our country gravel road I will be well seen. I usually have a problem with hooded jackets - they droop down over my eyes because I have a short neck but this jacket hood has an adjustable cord in back that fixes my problem. The only warning I have is that the jacket is a little tight at the bottom so if you plan to wear layers under the jacket or have curvy hips you may want order a size up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stretchy and comfy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Material is super breathable and stretchy. No problems with condensation inside. I like the pit vents. Zipper pockets and packability are nice. Climbing helmet easily fits underneath. Got poured on and water beads off nicely. The only soak-through occurred where my backpack straps were rubbing up and down while I was walking (but this is expected). It is an athletic fit, so if you are large-chested or have broad shoulders size up. I'm 5'10 and 140 and ordered a medium. I have considered sizing up to a large just to allow more room for layering but am keeping the medium for now, since it is not my primary cold weather jacket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy and warm! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket about a month ago for a cooler weather hiking shell, but my overnight trip to Mt. Whitney was cancelled so I haven’t had the opportunity to . I bought a medium based on measurements and reviews, but it ended up being too big and I switched it out for a small. I am 5’2”, 37”-29”-37“ & 150 lbs, so I am small but have a muscular build. I am one to READ reviews so I can get the right sizing, but one thing I never saw mentioned in these reviews was that the arms are really long. So - basically, I would say if you’re wanting to layer a lot, go for a size up. But honestly ladies, this ain’t 2005 anymore where we wear bulky sweatshirts and 3 cotton long sleeve under our fleece jacket and outer shell to stay warm. This jacket’s technology is impressive. I was standing in a 60 degree room with a tank top and had this bad boy on and I was sweating within a min. With the thermals I typically wear in cold weather - even in the negative degree weather, a long sleeve and a thermal and this jacket would be plenty to keep warm. So for me, the arms were too long, like past my fingers long, and it hung loose and just felt a bit too big for MY comfort. I’m all for sizing up when appropriate, but the medium was just more bulky than what I wanted. Once I got the small, it wasn’t restrictive and felt very flexible. I suppose if you’re wanting to wear a puffy coat underneath and truly have this as an outer shell, size up. Overall, I’m super excited to wear this coat and look forward to next winter or at least a good Colorado summer rain storm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight & Packable Recently used this on a cruise to Alaska and it was lightweight and packable while not in use, and perfect for layering over a midweight jacket on the rainy, misty days. I bought a size large (5'3", 165 lbs) and it doesn't fit too loosely while still fitting comfortably over multiple layers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shell Overall a really great shell. Living in basically a rainforest in Alaska, I need a good rain layer and so far this jacket has really performed excellently. The seams and zipper truly are sealed and water proof, which is awesome (no more wet zipper-chest-puddles!). I’ve only had it a month so far but this has been the rainiest summer here in a LONG time so it’s had plenty of use. My only gripe with the design in the sleeve cuffs’ Velcro doesn’t extend around the cuff far enough—this means I can’t seal the sleeve around my wrist like I would like to, so I sometimes get wet forearms with the water running up them when I’m moving around a lot. But overall I’m very pleased with the jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Stormline Stretch Rain Jacket Love this jacket. I looked at a few rain jackets to upgrade to and this one won out. I can layer with it or wear as a solo jacket. The stretch is perfect and the fabric feels tough. I wore it in one downpour so far and it did amazing. My pants however, looked like someone threw a bucket of water on me! The only thing I'd note is that this is made to accommodate a helmet, so with that, when you're not wearing one, I do feel the hood is rather big. I'm still working on the perfect way to tighten this but since there aren't the normal synch points at the neck, it's not as streamlined (IMO).
