Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great poles The best thing about these poles is the flick lock aspect. I can't tell you how many times I have had twist type poles loosen up and collapse while hiking, sometimes irrevocably. These poles shorten to a very workable size so you aren't poking your friends with them when they are attached to your pack. They have an excellent size range. They came with powder baskets so if you are hiking in the fall in snow, you can switch to these. The only thing that is a negative is that they are heavy. I weighed these on my home scale and they weighed 17 1/2 oz. My ultralight Komperdells weigh 12 oz, so that is a pretty significant weight difference. Still, I have found myself hiking with these exclusively this summer because they stay at the length where you put them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these Trekking Poles! I first purchased another set of Trekking Poles from a well-known competitor. The first time I used them I had trouble with the locking mechanism and promptly sent them back. After much research, I settled on this pair of poles. I have yet to trek a long distance, but I spent an hour walking around our property adjusting the height and getting the feel of how to use them. I am so impressed with their sturdiness and I am well pleased with my purchase! Great buy!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Survived all-day, every-day use on our Pyrenees odyssey The shafts are so scratched that many of the length-indication numbers are illegible. The fabric lining the straps on one of our two pairs has frayed. And the carbide tips (yes, the originals) on all four of our poles recently loosened (after about 1,250 miles of constant, heavy use). But the shafts are still perfectly straight and as strong as ever. The nylon straps still work like new, even if they don’t look new. After we re-tightened the carbide tips using a pair of pliers (snugging them back up just shy of stripping the threads), they haven’t budged. And, most important, the flick locks never (!) failed to hold—despite the countless times we opened and closed them to adjust the length of our poles, and despite all the weight we placed on them during hundreds of pounding ascents and descents. Even the tips themselves—incessantly ground, banged and hammered into limestone and granite—show no significant wear. Black Diamond’s Trail Pro Trekking Poles are superb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Exercise for Mobility Issues I’ve been using these poles for almost four months. I have balance and mobility issues and primarily use them for exercise around my neighborhood. I can walk further and longer using the poles, and get both upper and lower body exercise. Lightweight, easy to adjust, comfy straps. And now I travel with them too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Have used these a couple times getting ready for our big Grand Canyon hike in a few weeks! So far I have loved these! Light weight, easily snaps in in place & can adjust the height quickly as needed. The dual handle grips are very comfortable & allow for a quick transition of changing ground. They also collapse down to a nice size!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff I never hiked before with poles but now just finished the John Muir Trail with them and I have never been more happy than to have these poles with me. Don't know how I would have managed without going over the rocky mountains, snow...! Sturdy, dependable, easy to adapt to the length you need. Would definitely recommemd them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to adjust pole This is my second pair. We managed to run over one of my first pair. While the pole is still functional (!), it no longer fully collapsed. I’ve used them on many hikes in the WA mountains and they’ve helped tremendously. They are relatively lightweight and very sturdy. Love the flicklock mechanisms—reliable and easy to adjust. Other likes are the extended grip and the comfortable handles for smaller hands. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
