Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable I really like these shorts, been searching for a comfortable pair of shorts for awhile and have gone through multiple brands and these are my favorite by far. The phone pocket is great, phone doesn't bounce and you barely notice its there, I never ran with my phone before but I think I will now. The upper storage pockets are great for snacks. Liner is a good thickness and level of compression, I would say medium level of compression, it stays put, had no issues with it riding up at all on a 16 mile run. The cut of the short is great, not too slim but also not overly baggy. I got a size medium, I'm 5"9, 165, 31" waist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I bought a pair of these about a year ago and they were awesome so I bought 2 more pairs.. I hate carrying my phone with me when I run, but when my Apple Watch broke I was stuck. The pocket on these shorts is perfect for my iPhone. It holds the phone in place without bouncing around and the side pouches are perfect for gels. I was unsure about the liner at first as I like the UA heat gear boxer briefs, but this does the job and keeps everything where it needs to be. These are lightweight and comfortable, they do a good job of wicking the sweat away so they don’t get too heavy when you sweat or run in the rain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really Like the Product - with One Exception As an aficionado of running shorts with liners - I found these Sherpa 7" 2-in-1 shorts to be exceptional in nearly every way - except one. The fit (medium) was perfect for my build (6' 175lbs) and they are generally quite comfortable whatever the distance and conditions (just not too cold). Pockets are plentiful - and the zipper pocket is great - except there is a small opening that I wish wasn't there. I don't run with a phone typically and only want my zipper pockets to be secure. With the opening - I cannot use the pocket for items that could fall out. Beware if purchasing these shorts with that in mind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like them but room for improvement I purchased the Sherpa shadow on April 25 and have taken 4 runs with them, my observations: 1. Shorts are lightweight and comfortable - on me they have a tendency to slip down a little in the back 2. Not a fan of the pocket design: I run with a S10(in a protective case) and getting it in and out is an issues vs a regular pocket. If I need quick access to it is not convenient at all. Just getting it to fit in to start takes too much time 3. The overall fit is good, however if you need to tighten them there is not a lot of draw string to work with 4. the 2 in 1 feature works well, for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Liners too warm I carry repellent spray on one of my runs as a defense against a dog that comes after me occasionally. I purchased these because they had a deep pocket to carry the spray. I ran with these for the first time this morning and they were too warm for comfort with temps only in the mid 50’s. The liners were tight against my thighs they may have felt cooler if they were loose. I could not run in these in the summer. I weigh 150 lb and purchased a medium the size felt fine otherwise. The fabric was supple and no chafing issues but will only be able to use in cool weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Brooks Shorts This is the best pair of Brooks shorts I've ever worn. Outer material has more stretch than previous Brooks shorts and that's a much-appreciated upgrade. The phone pocket works great for me. These have the best waistband in any pair of running shorts I've ever worn. Stretch pockets can carry loads of gels. There's a key loop but I'm not sure how to use it. I'm probably overthinking it. If anyone from Brooks reads this and can follow-up with a tutorial on the key loop it would be much apprelciated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marathon tested I like the fabric, the pockets, and the overall comfort. The smooth, soft fabric passed the marathon test because I never had to think about it during my race. The phone pocket has room to spare for my iPhone SE, but it might be a tight fit for some of the bigger phones. The small pockets on the waistband are just the right size for a gel or other similarly-sized items. I haven't used the key loop, so it gets in the way a little. These shorts are on my priority list for marathons and long training runs.

The zipper pocket on the side hip is perfect fit for a phone and holds it securely against leg. The storage pockets around the waist are plentiful and easy to access. The built in brief makes the short very comfortable! I bought 3 more of these and is all I plan to use. I do feel like they run a bit large because of the fit around the waist. I ended sending large back for a medium and it’s perfect
