Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seems smaller I had a 2013 hawg i used it for work and needed a new "clean" one for riding. My old pack i used to carry gloves, spare tube, flashlight and a first aid kit as just my basic load. On the new pack i Had to leave out my first aid kit do to the fact it's hard to get anything in or out of my pack including the bladder. I do like the fact the middle outside stretch pocket comes up higher. I use MOLLE type pouches for extra cargo room, they don't seem to attach as good as on my old pack. It would be nice if you incorporatrd some MOLLE straps on you sport packs and made pouches as well although i use military ones from a local surplus store.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing Hasn't held up for me, with both seams coming out and tears due to the thin fabric in use. The integrated ventilation design has become a real issue, as it becomes a haven for bacteria and this pack requires laundering after every use. Aside from these unfortunate caveats, this would have been my all-time favourite pack, as it holds EVERYTHING i want to carry and more. It is the most comfortable pack i've used to date. It is a shame that durability and the lack of an anti-microbial treatment in the NV foam make this pack the most disappointing Camelbak i have used in the past ten years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Usual Camelbak high standard. I had a few different packs in the past. I always come back to these. I got this pack as I wanted the ability to carry a few more bits of gear for longer days on the bike. It is organised well and fits great. I’ve raced Enduro events with it on pretty rough terrain and it never moves. the build quality is great and looks just as good as the day I bought it. The little tool roll is great for keeping your stuff together too. One of the main reason for coming back is the lumbar reseviour. It sits perfect on your back gives it a litttle support in the process.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from We Will See How This Pack Holds Up Well, after using a Camelbak Alpine Explorer pack for 10 years I thought it might be time to pick up another pack since the old pack has become very worn out. I looked at a few of the hiking Camelbak packs and I was not too excited by the designs they have now. Since the primarily use use of my new pack will be for mountain biking I chose to go with the h.a.w.g. The construction is not as robust as my old pack, and as other commentors have noted the shoulder straps are very cheap and the location on the pack likely to fail first. The water reservoir location and design is a good idea, but I also had to remove most of the items I always keep in my pack to get the reservoir in. Perhaps I will figure out how to work with this, but this is a big time waster. So, will this pack last another 10 years and maybe 10K miles of various mountain biking. We will see. Just an aside, I would spend $200 on a pack that will keep up with me on the long haul. No need to cut corners because if the pack prematurely fails I'll be looking at other brands to replace this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well designed with quality I was concerned about some bad reviews which in hindsight, I think are bogus. Nothing is cheap construction and is just going to fall off all by itself. I lost parts from my old Mule due to crashes and that's part of the risk of what we do. If I break a bone or scrape a shin I don't complain to my Maker that he did a bad job. Anyway there's lots of storage that I won't take advantage of except as the weather changes and a place to store a jacket is available. Lot's of water with great flow for longer days in the saddle and the magnet catch is amazing. The magnet pulls the hose to the docking clip when you just let it go. I think the bladder pocket may be somewhat insulated because the water stays cold much longer than my Mule. The best part is that although it's heavier than the Mule packed with the same stuff, it rides lighter. Camelbak is always ahead of the compensation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag!!! I recently needed a new bag so I decided to look around and I came across the Camelbak brand I looked at the HAWG and I looked at the MULE and end up buying both. This is a quick review of the HAWG, it’s bigger than the MULE by 5 liters I believe. I bought the red color it fits a lot stuff, you can wear it and it doesn’t feel like you have a backpack on at all. The weight is evenly distributed, you can just put a lot of stuff in there, I love it, I get tons of compliments on it and I use it every day

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HAWG review Bought this for the gear capacity and the concept of the LR bladder. Price was right as it was 2018 version. Not sure how well the bladder will drain completely but have not consumed all the water in one ride to find out. Water naturally goes to the bottom of a regular bladder. This one is as wide as 3 "normal" bladders at the bottom. With the water connection up an inch or two, it seems that there could be a struggle to get all of the water out when desired. Just a concern but not a "realized problem" yet. A bit disappointed in the lack of "compartmentalization" for storing items. One large compartment has 3 smaller pouches inside. As a bicycling specific hydration pack, I would have expected to have a specific area designed to hold a pump. A clip to attach a key ring was also not part of the design. Too early to comment on Qualify ad Durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced Original H.A.W.G CamelBak did it again by producing and amazing hydration backpack. I had the original mid 90's H.A.W.G and it finally came to an end. Ordered the new updated version and it is amazing. Lower back pain from biking is not an issue any more the LP water bladders are amazing. Will order the next version when my current camelbak goes down for the count.

CamelBak Men's Packs

CamelBak backpacks are designed and built to fit an array of body types and sizes. Adjustable should straps make their backpacks suitable for a torso size range, and that info can be found in the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS. You can use the steps below to determine your torso size.

CamelBak hipbelts are adjustable to accommodate most any wearer.

1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
