Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All Around Pack Really great pack that has been a huge help on all mountain rides and dirt biking. The low weight of the water feels like I'm holding 1L, not the actual 3L. The tool roll is a great place to keep emergency tools, but I keep a multi tool in a more accessible pocket. Very light pack that packs gear in well thought out way. Minor complaints, -I wish the waist belt zipper pockets were wrapped around more towards the front to make them more accessible -The tails of the waist band and the bladder compression straps are excessively long but easily fixed with scissors and a lighter. For reference I'm 6'2" at 185 lbs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Reservoir is awful, pack is great Been using the Mule LR for a few months now, and overall I dig the pack. However the reservoir supplied with the pack was less than useful. I ended up swapping the reservoir from my old Hawg, and it works just fine. I've even gone back to the original reservoir to give it another shot and I'm just not impressed. It is rather difficult to get the reservoir in place, and once in place it is harder to refill than the older style reservoirs (I like refilling without having to take the reservoir out of the pack if possible). The new reservoir is just not a good fit in this particular pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection My first gen H.A.W.G. finally started to leave me wanting so I started hunting for my next hydration pack. I cross shopped everything. Ultimately it was between the Osprey Raptor and this. The LR bladder is a game changer. I don't notice this pack on my back when I ride - at all. I am a bit of a sweat-er by nature and this pack keeps me surprisingly fresh. Recently rode Gooseberry Mesa with this. Held the perfect amount of ice and water. Increased flow from the hose makes it easier to hydrate when you're sucking wind. I've never been let down by Camelbak quality - it's a "buy it for life" kind of product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack for day hikes! Be careful with bladder. Great backpack for anywhere from a half to a full-day hike, with an appropriate amount of storage space for some food, snacks, a spare layer or two, and personal items. I might have been able to use a little more storage space... 3L bladder capacity is great for longer hikes, and the magnetic clip is convenient. As is usually the case with Camelbak bladders, though, you have to take care to close it properly so it is fully and tightly sealed. It is easy for the threads to not line up and then it will leak all over the place. Make sure it is completely closed (look at it from the side on all directions and flip the bladder upside down) before placing it in the pack, and you'll be good to go!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Fitting Hydo Pack I got the MULE LR 15 a couple of months and it has been the best hydration packs I've owned. The 3 liters of holding capacity is just perfect for a full morning or afternoon ride for my dog and me. I can load everything in it I need for the trail, without to much excess pack space left over. The bladder sits low and centered in the pack making the rest of the backpack sit securely through fast and rough terrain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid hydration pack At first blush, the LR bladder takes some getting used to, I found it a bit difficult to get the bladder into and in a proper position in the bottom of the pack without considerable effort. I felt I had to empty the other cargo I had in the pack to get the bladder in. I am sure this will become easier as I use the pack but my older M.U.L.E was not so demanding.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad design, poorly manufactured!! Coming off a 5 year old M.U.L.E. NV I was expecting better, instead I'm thoroughly disappointed. My old M.U.L.E. finally have up the ghost so I thought I'd replace it with the latest version. The new LR model is not very well thought out to say the least. Firstly the bladder is awkward to get in place and on my second ride one of the hose retaining straps pulled out of the stitching. Putting items in the pack is like putting them in a garbage bag, everything falls to the bottom. This only makes installing the bladder harder as it's fighting all your stuff sitting at the bottom of the pack. Our would be better served to have the bladder pocket separated under the storage pockets. The old NV had a much better storage layout with smaller pockets on the front. The magnetic hose clip is ok, but the bit that stays on the tube constantly moves so everytime I clip in my hose I have to pull the hose through it to get it back in the right place. Finally the adjustability of the straps is no good. I'm 176cm and 63kg and I can't do the waist straps tight enough, I might be able to if I cut the elastic loops off that are for holding the excess strap length. I'd also like to tighten the shoulder straps more, but then my helmet hits the top of the pack when descending. I've been really let down by this purchase, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done I got this pack about three weeks ago. I’ve had about four rides with it. It does what it’s supposed to do. There’s a 3 L bladder however I only fill it about 2 L. Reason being, the bladder at 3 L will hardly fit in the pack. I Purchased this on the close out deal. I would be a little more disappointed had I paid full price. The pack is balanced very well and very ergonomic. I wished that the zipper went all the way around the bag to put the bladder in the pack. The bladder definitely needs to be filled and in place before loading gear.

CamelBak Men's Packs

CamelBak backpacks are designed and built to fit an array of body types and sizes. Adjustable should straps make their backpacks suitable for a torso size range, and that info can be found in the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS. You can use the steps below to determine your torso size.

CamelBak hipbelts are adjustable to accommodate most any wearer.

1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
