Product Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from READ BEFORE BUYING The good: tons of pockets and storage for lots of little things like gels and phone to extra water bottle and jacket. Seemingly strong materials. The bad: INCREDIBLY OVERSIZED. my chest is 40 inches and so the reasonable size would be the large according to the size chart. I read a comment that these run big so I chose a medium, which also covers 40 inches on the high limit. This vest is tightened down as far as it goes and with full water it is barely tight enough to not flap around. Just be aware that you might have to size down once or even twice for this vest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nailed the design with this vest I bought this vest just before a trail ultra race. From the moment I tried the vest on I knew it was a winner. Very lightweight and the location of the soft bottles was perfect for me. Enough pockets to carry the gear I needed for quick access. The bottles have a lock to avoid unwanted spills. I left the bottle in the pouch for drinking. I'm not a fan of the straws so I stuck with the original tops. I retired a hip belt. I had too much bounce with full bottles. In summary you'll enjoy the lightweight and quick access to gear. The bottle location and quick access were key to the design for me. I would absolutely recommend getting this vest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you need Ran the North Face Endurance Challenge in this vest and loved it. Had plenty of storage for H20 and gels (and poles if you need them) - and I hardly noticed I was wearing it - both when full and empty. Kept snug to my core and kept me hydrated on the move.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buy Smaller My dimensions were just big enough to fall in the “Large” size. It ended up way to big, thus it bounces when I fill up the water bottles. As a result, I cannot use it at all. Rather go for a smaller size if you are between sizes. The rest of the pack seems fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing Info As mentioned in other comments for this vest, the sizing is weird. I asked customer service about it and a representative told me the chest measurement is supposedly at the bottom of the ribs. This is of course completely different from the standard chest measurement everyone uses and not mentioned at all in the sizing chart. I can confirm that with a 39in chest (measured the normal way across the nipples), I have to snug the upper chest strap completely tight to have the Medium vest fit me. The vest itself is nice for shorter days when you don't need a ton of layers. I have the older version from 2017 without pole carry and slightly different pocket configuration, so I think the newer one will be even better. I am getting a warranty replacement because the little plastic pieces used to synch the front bottle pouches shut cracked on my old vest. The rest of the vest is still in great shape.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from buy smaller! After reading many reviews I went to the store to try it on. Medium is the better fit than Large and my chest is 41 inches over the nipples. When fully loaded the top strap is still almost tightened to the max. I don't even remember the last time I bought anything not L or XL. Otherwise it's a great vest, I keep spare clothes in a ziploc bag so they don't get wet from sweat. 1 litre fluid is perfect for my long runs or trail runs. There are plenty pockets for gels, bars, phone and your rubbish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great vest, a little larger than expected Great vest! I've used this with bottles and bladder and both work well on the trail runs. Vest fits snug over the shoulders and through the torso without much movement initially but I've found that I need to synch it up quite a bit (almost max it out) after 20 min on the trail to keep it in place. Would highly recommend this pack but might recommend sizing down a bit. I'm 6'1" and 205lbs with 44" torso - recommended size L. I also appreciate how light this vest is and the ability to carry either a reservoir or bottles (or both) depending on the adventure.

Size Guide

CamelBak Men's Packs

CamelBak backpacks are designed and built to fit an array of body types and sizes. Adjustable should straps make their backpacks suitable for a torso size range, and that info can be found in the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS. You can use the steps below to determine your torso size.

CamelBak hipbelts are adjustable to accommodate most any wearer.

HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE
1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
