The Carhartt Men's Full Swing Armstrong Active Jac is a durable jacket built with movement for all that the job requires. Heavyweight cotton duck canvas to hang tough against the woods, farm or jobsite and fleece lining for toasty warmth. Comfortable, warm and fits just right.Tried out this jacket at my local carhartt store and felt like I finally found a proper jacket that didn't limit mobility and was super warm. I definitely don't need to layer as much with this one, especially with the fleece lining. The sleeve cuffs (outer sleeve, not the actual stretchable cuffs themselves) are a bit a wide and make placing your hands in the pockets seem a bit weird (maybe it's just my OCD) but other than that, this jacket is perfect. The hood's fantastic, the drawstrings for the collar are great and it's durable as hell. I've already worn this through snow, rain, and sleet, worked outside in it, and it kept me dry and warm.

Almost perfectPros: Durable weatherproof duck exterior. Unlike some other Carhartt styles, full Zip closure keeps neck warm & Full Swing design provides great articulation without jacket riding up or pulling sleeves down. Cons: armpit flaps catch on obstacles when carrying objects in tight places and can act like shovel when on back under truck or tractor on snowy ground. Like other Carhartt styles, two front pockets provide comfortable hand warmer design, but should have a single snap at center to not collect snow or lose pocket contents while working. Overall great winter work jacket, especially paired with Zip-to-Waist Quilt Lined Duck Bibs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely LOVE this jacket! I've always had the regular active duck jackets; and they're great jackets, but anytime you bend over or reach up with your arms they ride up. The full swing doesn't really do that. Only reason for 4 stars is I believe I'm an in between size. Carhartt said I'd be a large ( I'm 5' 10" tall, 175 lbs), I decided to go with a medium instead because I know they're stuff runs big. It's almost a perfect fit; sleeve length is perfect, still have a little extra room in the chest and belly area when zipped up, it's just a little snug around the waist.

This is my new favorite winter jacket. It’s very good at keeping me warm and it’s great for layering purposes because there is no fleece in the sleeves to make it easier getting in and out of the jacket which I find to be difficult when the sleeves are fleece lined. Although, it is fleece lined everywhere else to keep you warm. The cuffing along the waistline is an additional touch that I love because I feel like it keeps heat in better. It’s also very easy to move around in, I don’t feel super constricted like I do with most heavy jackets (like randy from Christmas story). I would highly recommend this jacket.

Almost perfect, just don't sit or bend over.I love everything about this jacket except the elastic at the waist. It blocks the wind beautifully and keeps me dry in the rain. The flex fit or whatever it's called is great and nice and loose in the elbows and shoulders. The only problem is that you cannot bend over without the elastic at the waist pulling right up and taking your shirt with it. This is how plumbers get that reputation, well the same is true for carpenters and farmers. So, as long as you are standing it's great, just don;t sit or bend. I wear a medium which fits perfectly in the arms and shoulders, perhaps it should be coat length?

Perfect fit. Finally![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always find Carhartt jackets overly bulky, not made for slim or athletic builds so I usually end up with a different brand. Tried a few on in the store today and then came across this one. Absolutely perfect. This jacket seems fitted, but very easy to move in with the Full Swing. I will definitely be buying more! Carhartt should make more fitted options, not everyone likes a loose and baggy fit. Adding a few more fitted items would definitely draw in more buyers given the quality and durability Carhartt is known for. We want to wear your products!

Free swinging shoulders FTW!This coat is pretty great. Two notable downsides - it comes with an elastic drawstring to cinch the hood... When fully zipped up the tighteners basically live on your chin or in your mouth. Totally annoying and uncomfortable. I cut them out almost immediately, no need. Secondly I've found the fabric flap behind the zipper takes some special attention to keep out of the way of the zipper each time I zip the coat up. Otherwise this thing rocks! With the gussets in the shoulders I have all the space a guy could ever need. The elbows move nicely too. Worth the extra coin over the standard.

Great fit and durable jacketI bought this jacket for my husband as a gift. He absolutely loves it and wears it all the time. He's very particular about his clothing and gets really annoyed if he feels restricted, so the the full swing arms have been perfect. His only feedback is that he isn't crazy about the rib knit waist. Although he is slender and the waist doesn't impact him zipping the jacket up, he doesn't particularly like how tight it feels. He does admit that it probably helps keep out a draft- which is a must when he's working during our freezing Wyoming winters.
