great motorcyle gearI bought these at the arctic ocean when I realized I needed rain gear in alaska (duuh). got them right there on the top of the world, and rode with them through to the worst rain ive ever seen. even down in washinton on the Olympic coast where it rained torrential amounts for 9 hrs straight, no break in the storm. but alas the storm defender tech kept me warm and dry. but I think i've tested these to the limits and broken the storm defenders will, because they are now leaking right in the crotch....and no body wants to ride with wet crotch. which is sad because these are perfect for slipping on and off quickly for those sudden storms on the road.

6ft8 225lbs, large tall fit me real good. Seem great so far.6ft8 220lbs, large tall fit me real good with the braces maxed out (im normally a 36/36 in pants). In a perfect lanky world a bit more in the leg and on the braces would be perfect but these work good enough. There are 4 chest pencil pockets so I un-stitched the middle ones and now have two pencil pockets and a centre larger one that can fit say a box cutter or quick acess for phone (instead of using the zipped chest pocket).
Bibs are great compared to pant versions (I''m now a firm convert). Loads of pockets on these bibs and kept my legs dry all day in torrential rain. Yet to try as ski trousers but will give them a go at some point.
Thanks carharrt for doing actual tall sizes in clothes

Wore my Storm Defender Bibs today while snowboarding after a massive snow storm, up to waste deep in snow. I was warm and dry all day long.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a pair of these bibs for work, and one day I was shopping for new snowboarding gear. After looking online and at various local board shops, I decided that if I want a product to keep me warm, dry and is extremely durable. I won’t find that anywhere else but, with Carhartt. So I purchased the Storm Defender Bibs and a matching jacket in black. Then after a few trial runs, I was so impressed I just bought my wife a pair of the Storm Defender pants for the same reason, which she wore today up at the mountain. At the end of the day we were both dry and warm, after playing in the deep snow all day. I’m glad I made this purchase and you will be too.

Durable and waterproof[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a Large / short I am
6’ tall 200 lbs my waist size is a 36. The only thing that bothers me is when I Bend over to tie shoes, or pick up something, the snaps on the hip area that keeps the zipper from opening up down the leg pop and zipper starts to move down the leg only an inch or two but is irritating...for a quick fix I’ll probably have some heavy duty hook and loop VELCRO or magnets sewn to keep it closed...ALSO an added leg pocket would be nice....good sturdy
Weather proof material...scale of 1 -10. I give an 8....

Works For The RailroadTrust me I have tried a lot of rain gear over the span of my career working for the railroad. From cheap as I could find to expensive. And I can’t tell you how many times I have had rain pants rip stepping up on rail cars. Nothing worse than a wet $$$ when it’s cold and nasty. But these bibs.....game changer. They don’t bind up like the pants do. So when you are high stepping to get off or on a rail car they move with you... No more wet $$$. The zippers on the side make getting them on or off a breeze. Stay dry even in a driving rain. AND the best of all they breath better than pants. They are very durable.... stood up to knees down in the gravel lacing airlines on rail cars to climbing up and tying brakes.

Really nice and really long legSo far so good. Have only worn once really on the farm. I love the zip from thigh to ankle for venting when it starts heating up. A nice zip pocket on the bib, decent pockets on the back. Definitely tough material but haven’t put it to the test really. Kept me dry all day while hosing stuff down and watering.
Buyer beware the length in the leg is way longer than the carhartt size guide. I am almost 6 feet and after having to return the long size because it was insanely long, I opted to buy the medium short and it is perfect for me.

Shoreline BibsThese bibs are the best bibs I've ever owned! While hunting and fishing they keep me warm and dry without weighing me down. By far the most durable waterproof material I've ever owned as well as breathable keeping you from overheating even when on the move. They've kept me warm and dry and haven't snagged on the sharp rocks, bushes, and everything else in multiple trips into the backcountry. Not too bulky and fit true to pant size without being chincy. Carthart is top notch and I would recommend these bibs to anyone.

Great wind blockerGreat wind blocker. Wish it had side hand pockets like regular bibs. Haven’t had a chance yet to get real wet so can’t comment on the waterproofing. Working out in the Midwest, I’m comfortable with thermals and a pair of pants underneath in 20 degree weather. Anything colder, lined pants would be a enough. At 5’10” 180lbs, the large runs a little big but leaves room to layer and enough movement for squatting and kneeling. Only thing that concerns me is how well the knees will hold up over heavy use in the field.
HOW to MEASURE NATURAL WAIST: Bend side to side and find the natural bend in your body; this is your natural waist. Please note this may not be the smallest point.
HIP / SEAT: Measure at the fullest part of your hips, approximately 8" below the natural waist.
INSEAM: Measure from your crotch down to the desired length on body. You may also measure pants that you currently own and like. Lay the garment flat and smooth out. To get the inseam length, measure on the front from the crotch point, along the seam, to the hem.
For best results measure over your undergarments. Use a cloth measuring tape.
If your measurement falls between sizes, buy the larger size.
