Lets me leave the umbrella at home...Wore in a spring downpour right after getting it. Kept me dry. Forearms are a little snug (like every Columbia shirt I have) but they aren't restrictive. It might make layering with heavy fleece a challenge in the cold, but for milder weather this jacket is the ticket. Columbia makes dozens of other products for cold weather anyway. Basic, supremely functional, and way more convenient than an umbrella. When fully zipped, the hood doesn't fall over my face like other jackets I've had - but still has enough overhang to keep the water out of my eyes. Very well thought out jacket for us guys who appreciate simple and functional.

Buy this Jacket![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this one for my husband. Now the entire family has one. If you are looking for a jacket that will actually keep you dry, this is it. This is water proof, not water resistant. After hours in the rain, there is no water seeping through the fabric or the seams. The pants that match this are wonderful too. Mine is 4 years old and still perfect. I love that it will pack down really well to travel. It is made of a great fabric. It isn't plastic like, its comfortable. The visor on the jacket is nice in a really bad rain. Our 5 dogs have never done any damage jumping up on me. It's durable. THIS is the jacket to buy.

Water Tight Is Right[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had one of these jackets when I went to Europe for 10 days. It rained most of the first three days I was there. The day I was in Salzburg had particularly heavy rain all day. This jacket kept me dry all day long and even provided protection for my camera. I could sneak it out and take a quick shot but keep it dry the rest of the time.
It also packs very well, is very light weight, and makes a good outer layer in cooler weather.
I like it so much that after I recently lost a lot of weight, I bought the exact same jacket and color in a smaller size for the Seattle winter rains.

First try was greatI just received this jacket for Christmas so I haven't put it through the rigor of the demands that I usually put products through but it was pouring rain outside today so I put it on and went out to test it. Water beaded up and ran off just like it should. Was bone dry everywhere that the jacket was covering so it's working great so far. There are only two things that I can say.
1. The velcro that secures the cuff on the sleeve is very skinny and I believe that I might would want it a little wider. Haven't really had it long enough to decide though.
2. I have pretty long arms for my body size so if you are like me, you may want to get a tall size for less restricted arm movement.

Watertight II is perfect![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just purchased the Watertight II jacket and it lives up to the description. I’ve always looked to Columbia products for quality, function and good looks. The Watertight is just what I’ve been looking for to stay dry and warm. I’m 5’10” about 175lbs and went with the medium size and it’s perfect with room for a layer underneath without feeling to bulky. We’ve had a rather wet spring so far here in New England, and my recent purchase of the Watertight has already been put to the test, and passed with flying colors! Thanks Columbia for continuing to offer such great products.

Stellar productI bought four of these to keep on our boat for crew. we had s chance to try them out on a rainy, windy day with an occasional wave crashing up to soak us. The jackets were lightweight and breathable which is great for our Hawaii weather, but they are also totally waterproof. Not a drop of water got through. I'm going to order even more to keep aboard for our clients to use.
The quality is superb. The design is attractive and functional and the jackets are even better than I expected and I expect a lot from Columbia.

Favorite Rain Jacket[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay so I am a jacket addict, and I have gone through the twelve coat program more than once.
But this is the Northwest and a good rain jacket is a necessity. Wearing it you don’t even know it is there and carrying it has the same effect. I used to hate it when the fickly weather we have decides to ignore the weatherman’s predictions and turn out clear and blue and you have on the big bulky rain coat that now serves zero propose. This jacket being weather proof but light weight is easy to pack, layers perfectly and is one reason I have become a Columbia Jacket addict.

Works for Me[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for casual wear while walking around the city. It's worked well in moderate rain, keeping me completely dry. Haven't been caught in a real downpour, yet, so we'll see how well it functions then. It's comfortable in relatively warm weather. It runs a little bigger than I thought it would. Because it's for warm weather I don't need the extra room for layering a sweater. It's cut too big, but not outrageously so.
My major criticism is that the hood is way too big and can't be adjusted. I have to fold back the front flap a couple folds to keep it from covering my face.
