Fishing and Hunting
A moisture-wicking fabric for active pursuits in warm weather. It works to pull moisture away from the skin, then evaporates fast, so you remain dry for the rest of the adventure. It works just as hard as you do.
A fabric technology for the days when the sun is out and sitting inside the house isn't an option. Stay outdoors, but protected with a fabric that blocks Ultraviolet A and B rays (UVA & UVB). Prevents sunburn, without the icky sunscreen application.

Runs Small Size UpI wear standard 8/10 in most all brands out there. 10 was too tight in waist but fit good elsewhere, so due to quality & selection re-ordered 2 pairs in 12. At 5'7.5" 145-150 lbs more of a boy's waistline suggest if you are thicker waisted, to size up one from regular fit, even Columbia standard fit. Regular length was fine, tend to have longer legs for height. Nice trim looking pant for warm, hot humid climes along w/working on farm, riding horses, or motorcycle riding. Good all around pant. Rise also plenty generous which is a must for an active pant - would say a tad higher than mid rise, won't have to worry about plumber's crack.

Size Up 1 to 2 SizesI sized up 2 sizes after reading the reviews and am glad I did. I also have Columbia's Anytime Outdoor pants and the fit of the Aruba is a lot more snug. Unlike the Anytime pants, these pants do not stretch. But I think the material is more durable as the Anytime pants will pill. I don't think the Aruba pants will have that problem. It's very lightweight and great for hot/warm weather hiking. Because it's nylon, it will dry quickly if you're having to slosh through water. I like the fact that they can be converted to capris. These pants would work well for traveling. I'm 5' 4" and will have to shorten these pants 3 inches.

At Last!Fabric is critical for me. Don't want knit/stretchy pants. These are all nylon with a slight texture. They don't cling and are flattering front and BACK! I want pants that slightly "graze" the body and these do just that. I have the black and sage and will order more. Nothing shows through those colors. The fossil is not see-through but leans toward that. Fossil is lighter than shown here. Sage leans more towar d a dark khaki than green. Looks great with orange, yellow. Please keep making these pants. Some of us still have very nice bodies but knit/stretchy fabic reveals less than perfectly toned flesh. Needed a ten instead of ususal size 8. I wear these to the gym.

Great functionality[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this style of pants! The zip pocket on the left leg is big enough for an iPhone 6. They are very comfortable. They are perfect for hiking or cycling ( because you can roll up one leg while riding). They are not too hot and they dry very quickly. I originally ordered these in a size 8 due to other reviews saying they run very small. The 8's are comfortable but slightly big in the waist. I ordered the 6 and it fits great. They do run a bit small though. I normally wear a size 4-6 in Columbia clothing. I'm 5'8" and weigh 138 lbs. I now own every color I like them so much. Very versatile!

Not Designed for Plus Sized Bodies[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive these as I generally love Columbia products. Upon opening, I realized quickly that these pants were super thin material. Since we hike often, I question whether they would survive a slip or fall.
They are also narrow in the knees, thighs and hips, and run a full size small in my opinion. Having had a similar experience with the convertible hiking pants, I feel Columbia simply doesn’t understand the shape of plus sized women. I would love for them to make clothing that truly fits, but that does not seem to be the trend.

Good pants, but run smallFirst, these pants seem to be designed for women with straight hips (like myself). If you are blessed with curves, these pants may not work well for you. Additionally, the sizing of these pants seems somewhat smaller than other Columbia pants/shorts. I’m 5’5”, 120 pounds, and consistently wear Columbia size 2. However, these pants were too snug in the waist and thighs in size 2. I reordered size 4 and I love these pants so much so that I now have two colors; navy and sage (which is dark khaki). The thigh pocket is generously sized and will accommodate my cell phone. The only cons are that the hand pockets are a bit small/ shallow and the waist could use two more belt loops at the hips.

True Expedition Clothing[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these pants for crossing the Atlantic in a Sailboat, they were the best, comfortable, dries fast, cool, I got home and ordered another pair. I am an apple shape, I have smaller hips and a bigger waist, and pants that fit me in the waist are usually too big in the hips and butt , these were not, so I would say they are a slim in the hip fit, for those of you that are a little hippier, than me, I'm a 5'2" 133 lbs woman, I bought the size 10, and hemmed the bottom two hem lengths and they are perfect, I hope this helps

Does not run small at size 24Thought I'd write to help my fellow big gals decide on a size. I'm about a 48" waist and 51" hips and I'm kinda swimming in size 24. Based on Columbia's measurements they should be a little tight, especially in the waist. I'm an apple shape with no butt and never would have expected the waist to be the loose part. Ever. They're less baggy in the hips so maybe the issue is for those lucky gals who are hippy. I decided to keep them as they'll fit great over fleece pants for winter. I haven't worn them out yet, but I'm already in love with the weight of the fabric and how small I can bunch it up. This is gonna dry quick and pack anywhere. They are ridiculously long, but the rolled up length is just the right length for me! I may still have them hemmed, especially if they unroll when wet.
