Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Think about ordering two sizes down... I really like this vest for 3-season wear over a long or short sleeved T in central NC, and under a light jacket in winter. Great colors, really soft. Wish it were a little longer (or scooped) and had a "princess seam fitting," for a more feminine, not tight, fit. The Medium I ordered had 4 inches extra to grab down the sides (I'm a 38 chest) so I reordered two sizes down figuring on an extra 3-4 inches---It's cut very wide and boxy, and has about 1/2 inch stretch to it, so consider that when ordering: what you wear it over and what fit you like. The price/quality are good, so I will make a little compromise in the style and just order smaller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All vests are made the same... not [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've relied on a trusty old fleece vest from another outdoor company for over a decade now, and finally made my move on this item when winter sales began this year. Couldn't choose a color, so went for both olive green and dark nocturnal. Size S (my frame: 5'5", 130 lbs). Impressed! Not only with the softness and the stylishness, but also with the actual colors. They're lovely. Nocturnal is staying with me, with all my blue-greys in the wardrobe; olive went to a friend who's got green eyes, and it's a match. The friend is both taller and thinner than I am, and she is happy with the S as well, just FYI.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product Size Inconsistent This is a nice vest and I have three I previously purchased and wear all the time. It wears well and washes up nicely. I have two in size 2x and one in size 3x that I purchased at a local store. I decided to check online for one in a different color. I was excited to find the same vest in multiple colors. I ordered a 3x, but when I tried it on, it was smaller than the size 2x and 3x I previously purchased. Columbia is such a nice quality, so I was disappointed that the sizing wasn't consistent. The size may have been marked incorrectly on this particular vest, but I will not take a chance in ordering another one due to the high cost for return shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the third vest I've purchased I love this vest and in fact, I purchased this for my mom who was using mine. She actually likes to wear it around the house in the winter and then uses it to go out in the cool days of fall. There are no sleeves to get in the way of her work, but it keeps her shoulders warm. The only issues I have with this vest is that it is hard to find. For some reason no store in my area that sells Columbia was carrying them this year or maybe they were out by late January when I wanted one. Also, ordering was more expensive than buying it in the store. Also, why don't you offer petites for shorter women? My mom is 5' 1" tall and the vest is a tad long.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Women’s Fleece Vest I have been a long-time Columbia customer and enjoy wearing several items of their clothing. The Columbia clothing I’ve purchased in the past has always been made with quality fabric and careful craftsmanship. However this white fleece vest is a disappointment. One zipper pocket is set higher than the other and it “pouches” at the top. The armholes are also sewn differently from my other Columbia fleece vest (purchased 2 years ago) and the fabric puckers around both armholes as well. When this item arrived, I contacted Columbia with details....still no response from their care team. I wouldn’t recommend buying the women’s fleece vest until improvements are made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Benton Springs Vest [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are still nice vests, but I miss the older ones that you used to have. I have many Columbia vests in a size large and I love them. I ordered an XL not realizing that my older ones are all a large. But to my surprise the XL is almost the same size as the old larges. The new fabric isn't as soft and stretchy as the old vests. This may be a result of the amount of use the old ones have had, but I think it is simply that the new material is not as nice. I also liked the Columbia name on the older vest, embroidered in the color of the vest, vs the extra logo stitched onto the vest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy and comfortable Since I had purchased a Columbia Vest that has since been discontinued from last year, I decided to try the Benton Springs Vest. It was almost the exact same one I had previously purchased. I decided to take a shot and I purchased three. I love them and might purchase more. The weight is just right for my walks in the park around the lake where it can be a little chilly. I use them in the car and don't feel like I have a bulky fabric on my back or arms. I don't get overheated, yet I don't feel the cold. I would highly recommend this item. The only objection I had was the cost at this time of year. They should have been discounted for the spring being I had to pay more already for the extended sizing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft and comfortable Nice soft fleece vest! I have an older Columbia fleece vest that I wear all the time, both inside and outside. I wanted another similar one. This is a bit lighter weight but still feels like it will be warm. Based on the size chart I ordered an XL when I normally wear a size large. It is big, but I can't be sure the size L would have been too small? The biggest part is the armholes which I may end up altering. It is a nice extra layer that would work for inside. For outside it would work as a casual outer layer on a cool day. Perhaps it could be worn for an active sport such as XC skiing as an extra outside layer.
