Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these boots so much and want to go hiking more often just so I can wear them! I got them in size 8 at first but had to switch to 8.5, which is the size I get for my running shoes anyway. I did not break them in at all, and the first time I wore them was for my hike from the Yosemite Valley floor all the way up to the top of the Half Dome and then back down. These boots were so comfortable the entire 12 hours! They are also extremely grippy and worked so well on the intense incline near the top of the Half Dome, I didn't even slip a millimeter. 12/10 would recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these for a trip to Iceland and they far exceeded my expectations. I didn’t break them in before I left, but there was hardly any break in period. The first time wearing them I experienced slight discomfort, but that went away by the second day. I usually wear an 8.5 so I bought these in an 8.5, and they fit perfect. I am amazed how dirt does not stick to these, and mud wipes away easily. These boots also repel water and don’t even get wet. I cannot believe the value of these boots for the price. If you are on the fence about these I definitely recommend purchasing them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Columbia rainproof boots [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally do not write reviews, but because these boots are so awesome, I will. I bought these boots for 2 reasons. I wanted a rainproof boot and I needed a wide size. I held no hope that these would fit right, and I was wrong!! They are so, so comfortable! I kept the box, thinking I would need it to send them back in,and walked around in them for days, thinking that any minute my feet would start hurting. Nothing happened! My feet were comfy, and no one was more surprised than me! I bought some wool socks from Columbia and now I have comfy and warm feet! I just burned the box to return them. Love these boot!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TerribleQuality-FellApartOnTrail [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very very disappointed in this product! Purchased for a week long hike through Volcano National Park (marked trails) and the sole wore all the way through with pieces of rubber disintegrating and falling to the trail. I had to continually pick up rubber and pack it out. :( Other Columbia Boots my husband purchased were fantastic; these were terrible. I would not recommend these books for gravel trail hiking. ( They may work fine on grassy trails...) See pictures of "breakdown". I plan to return these to Columbia and hope to exchange them for style my husband purchased; his are like new after doing the same hike. Hmmmmm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for new hikers [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m relatively new to hiking and needed to buy a pair of shoes that wouldn’t break the bank, but also have all the qualities for support and comfort. I looked for a couple weeks and read review after review. I settled on these and after reading other’s suggestions on sizing I picked my normal size. These fit true to size and I had no trouble wearing thick hiking socks with them. I wore them on an 8 mile hike right out of the box and they needed minimal break in. If you’re on the fence, I say go for it, the price point is just one of the many great things about these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable hiking boots [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After trying on several styles and brands of hiking boots I found the perfect fit and style with the Columbia Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Amped Hiking boots. I wear size 6 in sneakers so I went up a half size to accommodate thicker socks for hiking. I love how comfortable they feel and they provide a bit of arch support which is helpful. The footbed has a nice cushion. I especially love the lower back design of these boots to provide more comfort. They felt so comfortable as soon as I put them on. I have worn them around my neighborhood to break in for my next hike. These are my go to boots for hiking. So glad I found them!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LOUSY BOOT. Short lived. Not good for the price. Seriously. I bought these for my daughter. She's worn them a dozen times, the sole is barely even scuffed, yet the suede is already opened up on the toe joint of 1 boot. (Ball of foot) Cheap product. Not well made. Get these for a 3-4 time use but consider them trash otherwise. The warranty is a joke as well. 60 days so long as not been worn/ used at all. (Makes it a wee bit difficult to determine quality. I mean, how hard is it to say there's nothing wrong if all you do is look at them). I've made my last purchase with this clown group. Columbia footwear....what a joke. Superior joke of a warranty. Don't be fooled. This is where to NOT shop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hiking shoe for Alaska! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered these boots because I needed something light weight but durable to my trip to Alaska. Despite how light weight these shoes are, they kept my feet dry and comfortable the entire time without any blisters! The tread on the bottom and the comfort on my feet allowed me to hike the trails and bend my foot around a rock for better footing. My mother ordered a pair too, and she loved the boot even though it is normally hard for her to find shoes she finds comfortable to wear all day long. I was very impressed with the durability of this boot, they're still in great condition even after the trip!
