Columbia Omni-Heat Reflective

Columbia Omni-Heat Reflective
Columbia Omni-Heat Reflective is a technical fabric used to regulate temperature. When you see tiny silver dots lining your outer wear, think reflection because that's just what they're there for. They reflect your very own body heat back at you, retaining the warmth you're already generating. It is also breathable, so you won't overheat at the same time as well as wicks moisture away from the body to keep you dry.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great coat for cold, but not frigid, temperatures. It is incredibly lightweight considering the warmth it provides. I find the elastic wrist a real plus with regard to the cold. It has a tapered cut and and so the fact that the zipper can be opened from the bottom helps when bending over. The 2 zippered pockets lie flat and are a nice size. It does run very small though. I am 5' 31/2" tall and 100 lbs. Usually I wear XS and even these can be a little big on me. I ordered S because of the reviews and wouldn't mind if it was a little looser. I can wear a sweater under it but not a bulky one. Overall I really love this coat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm coat but not water resistant [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coat is very warm and comfortable. Fits true to size. I bought this coat specifically for the hood and the warmth. I felt very comfortable when the windchill dipped below 0 as well. However, this coat is not water resistant at all. I was shoveling in light sleet -not too heavy didn’t even need to wear a hood. When I went inside, I realized that the inside of my coat was soaked. Not from sweat, I might add. It did dry quickly and I was well aware that this isn’t a waterproof coat but when something says water resistant I was assuming it meant light rain/sleet it would be fine but heavy rain wouldn’t be. Well, light rain still permeated the jacket. Not expected. I recommend if you want a warm jacket with no chance of precipitation, then get this otherwise look for a better jacket. In order to stay warm, you must remain dry. Hence the 3 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket but definitely needs under layer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jacket is great; thin but very well insulated. It's also not bulky like other winter jackets I've had which is good for navigating around public transportation and other crowded areas. I'm always a bit cold so I will likely wear an under layer like a fleece sweater under it when it gets very cold (right now it's 7*C) but overall it's keeping me warm so far!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Two sizes too small, lighter weight coat This jacket is way under sized. I am 5’ 8” and 100 lbs wet, and ordered a small. I could not zip it up over one layer added to my clothes. It was also really tight through the shoulders. I am not large boned. I would normally order XS with Columbia. I return the small. I have heard good things about the jacket, but I think I would rather have the Heavenly jacket after seeing it at a store in the PDX airport. It seems like it would keep me warmer and I think I could wear a small. It still might have a shoulder issue with a layer there perhaps. Got both a medium powder light and a small Heavenly on the way to see which is best. Hopefully the Heavenly! I love the extra warmth features.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The seams came apart I just bough this coat this month, and I got a larger size on purpose to make sure it lasts me a long time, and within the first couple wears, the seams began to come apart. If you lift your hands over your head, the seams start popping and coming apart (same with the seams on the chevron design). I don't know if this is just the bad sewing quality or overall poor quality of the coat, but I am really disappointed and unsatisfied with this product. Also a couple stitches were missed, which will make the coat fall apart even faster. Now I can't even return this product because it is "damaged", yet it is do to poor production quality. Overall, I wouldn't buy this again, it cost too much and lasted me less time than a cheaper coat from other stores.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love a coat with Omniheat lining and this coat is no exception [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a shorter Columbia jacket I bought years ago that has the Omniheat lining, and it's the warmest jacket I own. In fact, if I wear it shopping, I have to shed the jacket because I get too warm indoors. I needed a longer jacket that would cover my backside , especially for wearing to chilly football games, so I thought I'd give the Powder Lite Mid Jacket a shot. I love this coat, especially that it's fitted and makes me look like I have an actual waist. I'm 5'11", 150 lbs, with an athletic build and usually wear a Size Medium or 8/10, but I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered the Large. It fits perfectly, with a little room to spare for a sweater. Also, the sleeves are super long, so they might be a problem for someone who doesn't have monkey arms like me. ;-) It's June, so it's too warm for me to "test" my new coat, but I'm sure it's going to keep me toasting warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight Powerhouse [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have another jacket (not Columbia) that I loved because it was so light but I was freezing all the time! I saw a friend with a Columbia jacket with Omni-heat in a similar style, the Powder lite and was intrigued. She said it was super warm! I bit the bullet and bought one and I’ll never wear any other kind! It was 4° here in Chicago and I felt comfortable with my jacket and all I had on was t-shirt under! I wish it was a floor length jacket though lol. I purchased a Powder lite for my daughter and another Omni-heat for my son, due to arrive Thursday! So excited

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toasty but Small [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wish I would have heeded other reviewers and gone up two sizes instead of one. I am normally S-M so thought going with the large would be enough. I should have sized up to XL. Love the jacket and it will work well here in SoCal when the temps dip and a thin sweater and jacket will suffice, but we are headed to colder territory where heavier sweaters will be necessary—alas, the jacket won’t accommodate bulkier sweaters. Thus, I’m borrowing a warm jacket for our trip from a friend and keeping the jacket for walking the dog here at home.
