The Columbia Women's Tidal II 3 Inch Short is a durable short for spending time on the water. Cast a line and be patient while standing comfortably in this polyester and elastane blend. Partial elastic at the waist adds comfort while a drawcord cinches to your preference so they won't slip. They repel water when the catch makes a splash and also provide UPF 50 protection from the sun. Zippered hand pockets won't let small odds and ends fall out on the boat deck.

I LOVE these shorts![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The length is perfect. The zippered pockets are a great feature. The patterns are playful. The description says "just enough stretch" but the fabric isn't stretchy. The waistband has some stretch though, and the drawstring hidden on the inside of the waistband allows for a custom fit whether you're pigging out at a picnic or playing an active game of water volleyball (or I suppose if you're fishing, for which Columbia says is their purpose, you'll be happy too). I'm considering getting a couple more in different colors.

Beautiful fabric[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn’t sure what to expect but I love the fabric and feel of it is strong yet if I were to get wet I feel they would be still comfy and dry fast. I wear a 1x and so happy they have pretty clothing for my size.

Almost PerfectThese fit great and the length is nice. They are quite comfortable except for one little detail - the zippers on the pockets! I like that they're sturdy zippers (I don't feel like I'm going to break them if I have to open/close them roughly) but if you sit in a more cramped position, they can dig into your skin because the fabric is pretty thin (thin in a good way). Other than that minor issue, the shorts are great. Buy them.

Curvy girls - heads up![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Curvy girls - you might want to try these! The elastic on the sides helps the drawstring get the waist tighter, while still leaving room for the hips, butt and thighs. I normally wear a size 10 (my waist is more like a 6 or 8) - the large was comfortably roomy. I am going to order another pair in medium because I might be able to make those work, too. The zipper pockets don't bulge out or accentuate the already noticeable hips.

Well madeMy only issue w/size is I wish 2X was a 18-20 (like most garment sizing ) instead of Columbia's sizing of 2X=20-22. So either too large or 1X a little small. 1X runs a little large so not too bad. Blue and silver grey beautiful colors.

Okay shorts.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shorts are very comfortable to wear. More comfortable that my older version of Tidal shorts. I purchased these because I couldn’t find last years Tidal shorts anywhere.
I find the pockets of the shorts to be a huge drawback. When I wear these shorts, The interior pocket lines are visible on the front. Anything placed in the front pockets is also very visible. I also do not like how there is not a back pocket. The material is stretchy, so it moves and comfortably conforms to the body. I just wish it had a little more room in the thighs, and the waist band didn’t roll in the front. They are nowhere near snug, I just prefer a more relaxed fit. Overall, They are functional as shorts, and will wear them to the beach. I just wish they were more like last years Tidal.

Different but good[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the original tidal short and LOVE them! I bought two colors originally. When they came out with new colors I figured I’d try the tidal 2 short. There are differences between the two and I can’t decide if I like them more then the original. The zipper pockets are new, and the elastic used to be the entire waist band. I think the tidal 2 fit a little more snug then the original. Which, maybe with these changes I can buy more without it looking like I’m wearing the same pairs of shorts!
I bought large and could’ve gotten away with a medium but since I’m wearing them to work I want them more roomy to be professional.
Overall, if you need a great pair of shorts these are it! Stretchy, comfortable, and professional. I wear mine to work and they are great. If you get wet they still dry fast.

Favorite shorts![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have these in black and grey. Wish they had more solid colors. I’m 5’5” 112 lbs and the size Small is perfect. If I could design my own perfect shorts it would be these, although I would love if they added a back pocket. The material is great for being out on the boat, but I wear them for all my land activities too. The waist band is so comfortable and I love the drawstring.
