Love the coat; frustrating sizingLove the quality and style, and my daughter loves the grey shell with pink lining. I'm frustrated with the sizing though. The size chart indicates that Small was roughly an 8, so I ordered for my slightly smaller than average 8 year old. I considered going for a Medium, but the arm length was a really extreme jump between S and M. Received the coat today and the tag indicates that a S is for 7 - 8 year olds, so on the small size. It fits her okay for now, but probably won't for long. Were it not for the 3" longer sleeves in a M, I would exchange. Frustrating as I think we will quickly fall into an in between phase where Columbia sizing won't fit her.

Not pink neon red-orangeI buy these coats every year for my kids, they work great! They hold up well and can be passed down thru all three girls. This is our fav style because of the adjustable cuffs and mesh lining that really helps keep condensation out. I purchased one in the turquoise and it arrived looking exactly like online. But the other one i bought that was “blush pink” doesnt look anything like the pictures online. It is definitely not pink and not a soft blush at all. It is not girly like we thought it would be. It is a very vibrant neon red-orange. My daughter was disappointed, she wanted a “prettier girly-er” raincoat. It is excellent quality and very well made.

Great jacket for jogging![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the Arcadia jacket for jogging and for casual wear around town. The Children's Large fits me about the same as the Women's XS (I am just over 5 feet tall, 100 lbs.), and it often comes in colors I like even better. It's ever so slightly shorter than the Women's version, but that works well for me when I am jogging. The jacket is breathable, therefore comfortable for a jog. The pockets hold all I need (phone, wallet, glasses), and the jacket is waterproof in all but the most torrential downpours. (If it were any more waterproof, it wouldn't be breathable, so I am fine that it leaks in a very heavy rain.) It washes well. A great buy! I hope they continue making it for many years to some. I own about five of these now, in various colors!

Nice coat but not what we expected[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my daughter and it was not at all what we thought we ordered. It was the wrong size; I thought for sure I ordered a small 7/8 but I got a 10/12. I may have misidentified their small and medium size ranges. It was a rain coat with no liner. It was just a shell of a jacket and very thin. I am sure for someone looking for that, it would be perfect but it is not what she wanted. We returned it. I am recommending to someone looking for a true rain coat. Not if you want a lined inside jacket. Make sure you check that!

Kid’s jacket with grown-up featuresMy grandchild camps and kayaks with me on the Northern California coast, where fog drip and 30-degree temperature swings are common, and dressing in layers is the rule. For her to have the protection and comfort I expect from outerwear, I looked to Columbia, and found a waterproof jacket with a soft mesh lining, a weather flap over the zipper, and retroreflective details front and back. Her current size would be perfect for a rain layer only, but I sized up to layer this over her puffy jacket and 2-3 under layers. The extra material no problem, though, as the wrists have hook & loop closures, and the hood can be adjusted to allow greater protection or better visibility. She likes the color, and picked a soft knit Columbia cap to go with it. Off we go - fall & winter camping, rain or shine!

Very Nice![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this jacket for my 4-year-old and it is great! We got Punch Pink, and the color is super bright and fun. She just started wearing size 4T clothes, and I wanted her to be able to wear this jacket for a couple of years, so I got it a little large intentionally. I got size XXS, and it looks just fine on her for now, and will still fit at least another year! It is excellent quality, and will keep her nice and dry. Best of all, she loves her new rain jacket! Would definitely recommend to friends!

Additional feature - Pockets with zippers!See my other review on this jacket, size Medium. I also ordered my granddaughter’s current size, Small (8), which fit well for a rain jacket. I decided to go with a Medium (10-12) to work better with layers including a puffy jacket. The cool feature I forgot was the pockets have zippers! Past jackets without this feature, common on adult jackets, have resulted in tiny treasures lost and an unhappy kiddo. Zippers rule!

Proportions way offI bought an XXS for my 2 (almost) 3 daughter who is in the 90th percentile for height/weight for her age. It fit very well around the torso and length on the body but the arms were a good 3 inches too long. I didn't think she was that off proportionally, so I compared the jacket to the other jackets we have around. On most of those jackets, the sleeve comes pretty much to the bottom of the body of the jacket, maybe a little longer. On this jacket the sleeves were a good 2-3 inches longer (which was very different than the picture on the website implies). By the time she grows into the sleeves I am guessing that the body will no longer fit. So, while I loved the jacket quality, I ultimately decided to return it.
As for sizing, it's tough to say - either the body runs super small or the arms run way too big. I ultimately decided today it runs small cause the torso will be too tight for someone who fits in those sleeves, but you can interpret it any way you want.
