Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the boot Time for a review now that I have used them for a couple of weeks. I like them a lot actually, I didn't get an insole for them as they haven't hurt my feet any. Actually I find them comfortable they do feel a bit stiff but still provide cushion. I chalk that up to durable construction. They feel really nimble and light when waking and working in them. I guess that's why they call them the blackbelt. I'm in a warehouse walking on and near pallets, getting on and off fork lifts. They are pretty cool temp wise with normal cotton socks. I tried some merino wool socks in them and my feet got really hot/sweaty while working but would still cool down during a break.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cabinet shop I bought these to wear in my cabinet shop. The support they give on concrete is great and the protective toe is a plus. However, both shoes have developed a rip between the first and second string grommet from the toe, almost like it was cut. I bought these in February 2021. There is virtually no wear to the soles and I'm surprised at the failure of the fabric. If only one shoe had shown failure I probably wouldn't say anything but both at the same time signals a product or manufacturing issue. I have just received my second pair, this time in black, but am considering sending them back because of this defect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits true to size. I’m Fits true to size. I’m a 10.5 or an 11 if the shoes run narrow and I got a 10.5 on a gamble and they’re perfect. I work in aircraft maintenance and these are almost perfect. The only change I made was the insoles(which most insoles with shoes are not great, so not holding it against Danner). Great toe box so my toes aren’t cramped and they’re fairly light like I’m wearing normal sneakers. Would recommend over and over. I wore Danner in the marine corps as an infantryman and now in civilian world and that will never change. (A good spray/coat of camp dry is also great if you work outdoors to avoid wet socks)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best work shoe by far I have been wearing mine to work everyday, i am an AV field tech. All day on my feet is usually taking a toll on me. I have a pair of Red wing boots that i pain almost as twice as much for. They were very comfortable, but after a break from work i was not as fond of them. Bought these as a second pair to see how they would feel, have been wearing them exclusively since. I even wear them outside of work. Can't get a better pair for the money. Have other Danner shoes as well and am just as happy. My first pair of Danners was in the army. Great footwear and they make some of their boots and shoes in USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Edit: add on to my review I tried just to edit my review to add this but didn't see an option to do that. I felt I needed to add the reason I got these boots in the first place. The reason I bought these over other safety toe work "tennis shoe" styles from different brands or Danner themselves, is that these blackbelts are union made in the USA, and that is important to me. I will always be looking for that feature in future boots. And if Danner decides this boot should be made outside the USA I'll be finding an alternative that is made in USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, comfy, stylish! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third pair of the 3 inch Danner shoe. The first two were black. This brown is an excellent color with just a bit of orange to make the shoes stand out nicely. Many of the places I work require a pass through a metal detector. The Non metallic toe really speeds up the process. If you are looking for a shoe that is comfortable, durable, and made in the USA this is a good choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great work shoe. I live Great work shoe. I live & work in AZ & I needed a low top work boot for the summer months. I love that it's American made & rocks the American flag. I wear Danner Bullruns during the winter. With both boots, I remove the stock insoles & insert a special one that has high arches. This stretches my fascia throughout the day as I work. Plantar fasciitis has plagued me the last few yrs but with Danner boots, this is no longer a problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feel is good however I Feel is good however I can feel the composite toe. Especially under my toes, I can feel the whole bottom edge of the composite. This may prove to be a bit uncomfortable over time. Size was perfect. Quality appears good. Time will tell. I would like to know how much of this shoe's materials were sourced from outside the United States. Being Berry compliant would be much more preferable.

HOW SHOULD MY BOOTS FIT?

Danner builds boots for their intended use. You'll find that our styles fit differently depending on how they should perform in the field.

Hiking
-Right out of the box your hiking boots should feel somewhat snug on the sides of your feet (you aren't sliding side-to-side) with a little room at the toes (you don't want your toes to touch the tip of the boot just standing on flat ground).

-Make sure when you walk your heel doesn't slide up the back of the boot substantially.

-Make sure that you aren't feeling any pinching or pain while walking around your house. If you feel pinching at your big or little toe you probably need a wider boot or perhaps a larger size.

Work
-Your work boots should match the anatomical make-up of your foot, widening slightly in the toe-box for a secure platform to stand on.

-Right out of the box you should feel comfort, cushion and support underfoot, for long days on your feet.

-You may feel that they're slightly stiff or snug right out of the box, but after a few weeks of break-in they should move easier at the flex points and conform to your foot, fitting like a glove.
