don't judge before trying it outIf you are to compare this with the other Danner Boots you have, you will be disappointed. But this isn't one of those. It's a go anywhere casual shoe and not a true hiking boot. I traveled with this to six countries and so far great all rounder. great lacing system to take on and off on airports. Light and comfy enough for day packing. Okay, could'nt stand Kawaii's red mud, but then again most shoes would be obliterated with that. My only comment is the lack of heel support. I do wish Danner would keep this line. Looking forward for the next gen. Hopefully with heel support.

Good light weight walking shoes[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Caprine shoe feels really light in weight for a quarter top shoe and I like that, I was expecting a heavy boot but it's deffinatley. They seem to really form to the foot nicely extremely comfortable. I don't see these as hiking shoes but deffinatley something you could take on a long walk or just casual wearing.

Caprine boot[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Greafitting comfortable light boot. Only wish it were American made. I assumed most of Danner products were but not these. Still a good product.

This shoe is exceptional andThis shoe is exceptional and has so much potential, “BUT” it’s “not” there just yet. Very nice looking, well made, casual, recreational and versatile, lending itself to many different uses. That said, it is not true to size, it’s clumsy and a 10.5 M feels more like an 11 EE. Further, the shoe does not snug up on the foot bc it fits large, and inside the heel there is no concave heel cup, to keep the back of your foot in place and eliminate internal slippage of the heel wanting to rise up, feeling like your foot is going to slip right out. The Caprine will be a really nice option at some point, but it definitely needs further tweaking until such time as “its arrived”!!! Would definitely re-purchase this shoe if the required improvements were implemented, for the time being I’m going without a Caprine in my lineup whatsoever.....

No support, my knees hurtNo support, my knees hurt after walking about 2 miles on a road. I put new insoles in them and that helped a little , the insoles that came with them were useless . the shoes advertised online showed brown leather( so I thought) but came a light purple .I have bought Danner Boots in the past and have always been satisfied. Please let me know what I should do with them and if I can exchange them , what pair would you recommend. Sorry for the bad review .

Very comfortable shoe with noVery comfortable shoe with no break in period. I've wore Danner boots since the mid 90's and never had a blister. Don't think I'm going to get one with these either. Not a tennis shoe kind of guy but I needed a new pair and chose these because I'm an outside kind of guy. Wear these to the gym and they perform just like a tennis shoe but with a rugged look to them. They are very light weight and have a Vibram sole for off road travel.

Very disappointedI ordered the shoes and they came today. They look very nice. But once I put them on and tried them out I didn’t like the fit. There’s not enough support in the ankles .When you walk your foot slide up and down on the back which is very bad. There’s no way you could walk long periods in the shoes. These shoes could be fixed by bringing up the leather around the ankles to make it stiffer and more supported. I will be returning these.

I think that the theI think that the the mesh could be hardened some to provide greater ankle support and would potentially prevent dust and small leaf matter from entering the boot. I also think the tread could be improved as I have already worn out parts in just a month of using them. I also think that more adhesive could be applied to the black rubber piece near the toes because it is already beginning to separate from the leather.

HOW SHOULD MY BOOTS FIT?
Danner builds boots for their intended use. You'll find that our styles fit differently depending on how they should perform in the field.
Hiking -Right out of the box your hiking boots should feel somewhat snug on the sides of your feet (you aren't sliding side-to-side) with a little room at the toes (you don't want your toes to touch the tip of the boot just standing on flat ground).
-Make sure when you walk your heel doesn't slide up the back of the boot substantially.
-Make sure that you aren't feeling any pinching or pain while walking around your house. If you feel pinching at your big or little toe you probably need a wider boot or perhaps a larger size.
Work -Your work boots should match the anatomical make-up of your foot, widening slightly in the toe-box for a secure platform to stand on.
-Right out of the box you should feel comfort, cushion and support underfoot, for long days on your feet.
-You may feel that they're slightly stiff or snug right out of the box, but after a few weeks of break-in they should move easier at the flex points and conform to your foot, fitting like a glove.
