FEATURES of the Danner Men's Mountain 600 Chelsea Boot
PREMIUM UPPER: These uppers are made from durable full-grain or rich suede leather.
FLEXIBLE COLLAR: An Ariaprene: collar allows maximum flexibility and support while allowing the boot to be easily slipped on and off.
REMOVABLE ORTHOLITE FOOTBED: Three layers of varying density are combined for maximum cushioning and support. The entire footbed is made of open-cell polyurethane for better heat dissipation and air circulation.
VIBRAM SPE MIDSOLE: This rubberized EVA midsole maintains the same cushioning properties as traditional EVA, but is more durable and won't break down as easily. This technology enhances rebound, comfort and support.
VIBRAM FUGA OUTSOLE: With its self-adapting lugs and specially formulated Megagrip compound, this outsole provides incredible grip on both wet and dry surfaces.
HOW IT FITS: Designed for versatility, the DPDX has a low profile for everyday wear. Whether on the trail or urban exploring, this last was built to offer enough room for comfort while maintaining a sleek profile. Ortholite footbed included. Please note the Mountain 600 fits slightly large and we recommend sizing down a half size for best fit.

True to size, look greatTrue to size, look great and most importantly, feel great. They look like a full boot with your pant leg pulled down all the way. I loved them so much I got my 17 year old son a pair and he wears them daily. I’m a construction superintendent and as long as I’m not in the middle of a task requiring steel toes, I can wear these around the job for comfort and they look like regular boots.
I’m 5’-11”, 240 pounds with an athletic build…I walk 3-4 miles around the site every day and these have great stability (I need that for my running shoes as I overpronate) and traction. I wear them to supplement my 2650 trail shoes. They’re great for work or going to dinner. Awesome piece of footwear.

I have long enjoyed theI have long enjoyed the Mountain 600 series. They fit as advertised, about 1/2 size smaller, wear for years and are comfy. I tried the Chelsea once before and returned it as the entry hole was too tight and uncomfortable. Apparently they took the comments to heart as I gave it a second chance and these are great. They no longer make the 600 low (hint) and these are my replacements for them as daily walking around shoes. Snowy and ice on the roads last night walking and I had good traction, my feet stayed warm (around 25 F) and dry as the shoe goes high enough on my ankle to keep out the slop.

I give them 3 starsI give them 3 stars for grip, leather quality and feel. The other two stars were fit and comfort. A very difficult shoe to put on and take off. Have not been able to put them on with socks because the entry is really small. When I remove them with socks, the socks are left inside. Really Danner, the design is not good. In order to break the shoes you have to ruin the heel counter and then not just the fabric pinches your ankles but the counter pinches your heels. My ankles are on the smaller side and yet I have blisters there for wearing the shoes. I think you can do much better. It is a work out to put them on or take them off. Perhaps with more use and more blisters they will become wearable. Also the shoes are half a size too big. I ordered them accordingly.

1 1/2 years of useWanted a pair of Mountain 600's for everyday wear since I love those for my hiking boots and these fit the bill. I've been wearing them into the ground the past year and a half and are really only now starting to fall apart. Impressed with the durability and I've even done some light hiking in them. The heels did start breaking down and the outsole is starting to wear to the vibram midsole, but that's kind of to be expected - just wished they lasted even longer I love them to death. Might give the Pub Gardens a shot next.

Boot color is a purple/brown.Boot color is a purple/brown. I rather like the purple; however, it did come as a surprise. Suede is durable. Toe box is roomy. No break in required. Do not enjoy going downhill as my feet slosh around and slide to the front. True to size but the roominess allows for too much movement . . . feels like I’m hiking in slippers almost. No problems on flat and uphill trails. Great grip! Would exchange them if I hadn’t already hiked in them over the past week. They receive four stars because of the comfort level. These will probably become work shoes. Great for being on your feet all day. I find these extremely easy to put on and takeoff, contrary to what others have reported. Certainly a well made boot! Recommended for folks with bulky/wide feet. Would I buy these again? No.

Ordered these online. Size wasOrdered these online. Size was spot on. Danner’s quality was to be as expected. Boots have a nice tight fit around the top, doesn’t feel like they are gonna slip off without the laces. I’ve pretty much been wearing these on a daily basis now for a few weeks no issues. One other point. Putter material is softer, not stiff like a boot. Wasn’t very much brake in time. Put them on an away I went with no rubbing issues.

I can only say thatI can only say that I am extremely happy with my purchase. They were very comfortable when I first put them on and continue to be the most comfortable shoes I own. I get complements on a daily basis. They are comfortable in all conditions and varied terrain. Quality is evident when I first received and immediately put on and went out in Eastern Shore winter weather. Wet and cold!

a fanAfter buying several pairs of 2650's, I gave these a try. Remarkably comfortable out of the box. I did not find the snugness at the top to be as much an ordeal as some earlier reviewers. Seems a good design idea for a slip-on boot like this. The advice on the website that they run large is good: I wear 11's in the 2650's, but 10.5 was the right choice for these.

HOW SHOULD MY BOOTS FIT?
Danner builds boots for their intended use. You'll find that our styles fit differently depending on how they should perform in the field.
Hiking -Right out of the box your hiking boots should feel somewhat snug on the sides of your feet (you aren't sliding side-to-side) with a little room at the toes (you don't want your toes to touch the tip of the boot just standing on flat ground).
-Make sure when you walk your heel doesn't slide up the back of the boot substantially.
-Make sure that you aren't feeling any pinching or pain while walking around your house. If you feel pinching at your big or little toe you probably need a wider boot or perhaps a larger size.
Work -Your work boots should match the anatomical make-up of your foot, widening slightly in the toe-box for a secure platform to stand on.
-Right out of the box you should feel comfort, cushion and support underfoot, for long days on your feet.
-You may feel that they're slightly stiff or snug right out of the box, but after a few weeks of break-in they should move easier at the flex points and conform to your foot, fitting like a glove.
