Product Reviews
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Toe Crunch [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love these, but the top of the boot creases right into the base of my toes. Although I had seen another reviewer mention this, I assumed it wouldn't be an issue for me, because I have pretty narrow, thin feet. It was so bad, however, that I could barely take a few steps without pain. One side was definitely worse than the other, and I've noticed in general that Danners seem to have a lot of quality control issues (one side looking and/or fitting differently, when I haven't had that issue with other brands), so perhaps I just got a bad pair. They do run fairly true to size, look nice, and were otherwise comfortable. I ended up going with the Danner Chukkas instead, which didn't have the creasing problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary boot! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to get a half size larger, that way I can add wool socks and make them warmer in our mild winter region. Even with thin socks, I didn't have any size issues. Ordered my regular sneaker shoe or boot size. I love them! So lightweight. Comfortable. Waterproof is fun. These will be my rainy day boots as well. Quality is great of course, and I love the 2 different laces they come with. Color is super cute too. Price is perfect. My only complaint, I wish they put the danner logo on the boot somewhere it can be seen! It's only on the tongue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long-term commitment I have waited a very long time to write this review; bear with me. I ordered these in early December, to give ample break-in time for a March Grand Canyon rim-to-rim (21-mile) day hike. The first few wears, I had to adjust the lacing a lot to get them to feel just right and to avoid some rubbing on the ankles. Once I got that dialed, and replaced the inserts with SuperFeet, these were STELLAR. I stepped in a frozen mud puddle in December and my whole foot was submerged--never felt wet. We completed the 21-miler yesterday, and these boots saw me through the whole thing with no pain. I'm a Danner lifer now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable in CT winter and milder conditions [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First saw these boots because my friend used them for light hiking. I bought these to help move things out of my parents house in winter in CT. They were warm and supportive. Initially there was a patch of thick stitching on the right boot on the medial side (near the upper laces), but I left a work clamp on it for a night (!) and in the morning the irritating patch was flattened out. After that they were comfortable for long periods of time, and of course they look hip. Would definitely buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I gave it a 4 I gave it a 4 because the joint where the liner meets the outer leather stitching was sticking towards the ankle and was very sharp and uncomfortable. I was going to send them back, but my husband looked at them and said he could fix them. He took them and put them on his anvil and pounded on the sharp spots with a cobblers hammer and softened the knife sharp points into the soft, supple, pouting yummy leather they were designed to be. I tried them on again and they were perfect. Everybody needs a partner that can make the little imperfections perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I typically love danner boots I typically love danner boots and wear them for everything from farming to backpacking. I bought these specifically for hiking and I must say that they’re more of a sturdy street shoe. The fit is good, I actually sized a half size down and they fit well. However, the tread is sub-par for the amount of hiking I do. Thus, I will probably wear them out and about, but buy a pair of mountain 600s (which I’ve had before and LOVED) for any intense hiking or backpacking. That said, they’re a nice little comfy boot for wearing around town or doing light hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really excited about these hiking Really excited about these hiking boots! Wore them to Colorado with very little break in period. LOVE the feminine colors-the turquoise is great! I was worried about the dark brown leather being too dark but the blue and lighter laces make them perfect. I bought my regular size 8. Rubbed a little rough on my ankle when tied tight- but I think this will soften up after more use and not be a problem. Hiked 16 miles in 3 days and not a blister and sore spot. Waterproof too as I crossed a couple creeks and stayed dry! Great boot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love. This. Boot. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This boot is so comfortable and supportive, and looks great! I previously had INOV8 boots that I love, but wanted something a little more sturdy but equally as comfortable and comparably light when hiking. I bought these right before a trip to Yosemite with no time to break them in (whoops), but was not disappointed. No break-in period needed (true to many reviews I read) and they held up on some really steep, rocky, and unstable terrain. Can't stop raving about these boots! Color is accurate, and I felt they were true to size. I float between 6.5-7.5 depending on the shoe style - picked 7 and they're perfect! Make sure to tie the top eyelet tight so it supports you going downhill on hikes and you're not bruising your toes :)

HOW SHOULD MY BOOTS FIT?

Danner builds boots for their intended use. You'll find that our styles fit differently depending on how they should perform in the field.

Hiking
-Right out of the box your hiking boots should feel somewhat snug on the sides of your feet (you aren't sliding side-to-side) with a little room at the toes (you don't want your toes to touch the tip of the boot just standing on flat ground).

-Make sure when you walk your heel doesn't slide up the back of the boot substantially.

-Make sure that you aren't feeling any pinching or pain while walking around your house. If you feel pinching at your big or little toe you probably need a wider boot or perhaps a larger size.

Work
-Your work boots should match the anatomical make-up of your foot, widening slightly in the toe-box for a secure platform to stand on.

-Right out of the box you should feel comfort, cushion and support underfoot, for long days on your feet.

-You may feel that they're slightly stiff or snug right out of the box, but after a few weeks of break-in they should move easier at the flex points and conform to your foot, fitting like a glove.
