Love At First StepThe moment I put these boots on I did not want to take them off. I found them to be incredibly comfortable from the time I put them on until I took them off 10 hours later. They do not seem to need a hard break-in like some other brands. I honestly don’t ever want to take them off I am so in love with them. I actually have wider feet and usually would need a wide shoe. I’ve found that these are accommodating to my wide feet without discomfort. They are also very aesthetically pleasing, I think they’re just gorgeous. I will be buying another pair of their boots in the next few months based on the quality and comfort of these boots. My feet are so happy and so am I!

I had to return them,I had to return them, though of little fault to the boot itself. I generally wear a 10 (in almost every brand, nike, doc martens, etc),though I generally have to lace tightly But these were significantly smaller (mostly in width, the length was mostly okay, but still a little shorter than expected ) than any size 10 shoes I’ve ever worn before, and the tags on the inside said they were 10s. They seemed to be of good quality and they were cute, but they we’re just too small. I am disappointed that a 10 is the largest size offered in general, but especially with these shoes running small/narrow.

The leather is not what it appears in the online photoI would probably have really liked these if they were indeed charcoal in color. I returned these boot because the look was no way near as nice as the online photo. They are more like green-gray than charcoal. They have the appearance of a burnished leather, with the toe looking very greenish as well as other parts of the boot. They look black in the picture online. As another reviewer said, they mark up very easily. I decided to go with the Danner mountain light. The leather on these is exceptional in color and quality. I probably would have loved these if they came in a quality black leather. They just look "dirty". Also note that the laces are quite thin and not the same quality as other Danner boots.

I can actually walkhave special needs with regard to my feet (early onset arthritis, permanent nerve damage from a work accident, etc) that unfortunately have to take priority when boot and shoe searching. I decided to take a risk, and get some Danners after reading online reviews. And I have to say, 10/10, absolutely 0 break-in; this is important to me especially because I’m already in near constant pain - why would I add more? If you have busted, raggedy with your feet like I do these are absolutely worth the investment. I can walk for more than 20 minutes now. It’s insane.

DisappointedI wanted to love these boots. I love the way they look and the leather is excellent quality and the shape is sleek. However, I do not like the soles. I’ve only wore them a few times since receiving them because for one they are painful on my ankles. Like cringeworthy to break in. I’ve literally worn them into the woods one time and the sides of the sole have scratches in them. Legit gouges. FROM ONE TRIP INTO THE WOODS! Are these made for city streets and factory floors? I have another pair of dancers that are the alloy toe and absolutely love them. I can wear them all day and be completely comfortable. These I regret taking out of the box. I wear boots all day everyday these will won’t be the ones. Back to Ariats Charlie boots I suppose.

Like Walking on MarshmallowsBeen looking for a new boot for a while. I usually buy another brand that involves a "breaking in period", but meh, 2020 has been cruel enough. Saw the add, loved the style and had to have them. SOOO glad I tried Danner. Put them on for the first time, they fit perfectly, the leather is like butter, and no pain. Stylish, comfortable out of the box and destined to only get better with age. These boots like great with jeans and LOVE the orange laces! Never going back to the cruel boots, I'm a Danner customer for life now. Thank you!

Great boot, just too narrow[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These were so cute and would go with everything. Extremely well made, like all Danner boots. You can remove the insole to put in your own custom ones. I just have really difficult feet post surgeries and unfortunately these were too narrow in the toebox, and it didn’t correct going up a size.

The more I wear, the better they get.I purchased the port Logger last year. (black was out of stock). The fit was good, and since the color wasn't my first choice, I was expecting to feel "meh" about them. Well, I LOVE THEM. Besides molding to my feed perfectly within the first 2-3 wears (I have an annoying bunion), the weathered exterior looks super cool. The more beat up, the better they look! I just wore them out in the freezing rain whilst watching a field hockey game. My feel stayed warm and dry. The logger boot is purposeful and fashionable!

HOW SHOULD MY BOOTS FIT?
Danner builds boots for their intended use. You'll find that our styles fit differently depending on how they should perform in the field.
Hiking -Right out of the box your hiking boots should feel somewhat snug on the sides of your feet (you aren't sliding side-to-side) with a little room at the toes (you don't want your toes to touch the tip of the boot just standing on flat ground).
-Make sure when you walk your heel doesn't slide up the back of the boot substantially.
-Make sure that you aren't feeling any pinching or pain while walking around your house. If you feel pinching at your big or little toe you probably need a wider boot or perhaps a larger size.
Work -Your work boots should match the anatomical make-up of your foot, widening slightly in the toe-box for a secure platform to stand on.
-Right out of the box you should feel comfort, cushion and support underfoot, for long days on your feet.
-You may feel that they're slightly stiff or snug right out of the box, but after a few weeks of break-in they should move easier at the flex points and conform to your foot, fitting like a glove.
