Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits like a glove [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some reviewers mentioned these fit snuggly, so I was cautious because I do have quite wide feet. I'm glad I took the risk because though I do find it helps to make use of a shoe horn to ease putting them on, with thin running socks they fit just right! Snug but not too tight. I have arthritic knees, and these have the perfect combination of cushion and stability for walking on a variety of terrain, from light hiking trails to gravel to sidewalk. I had wished for different color options, but when they arrived I found the salmon color quite striking, so I'm quite pleased with that in the end too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These shoes are amazing and the Hot Sauce color is Fantastic! I don’t understand why everyone who gives these shoes only four stars complains mostly about the color, (while the hot red is actually the most attractive feature in my opinion) and nobody speaks of comfort, lightness, great ventilation and durability? Anyway, I’ve been hiking wearing these everywhere for the last three months, Montana, Utah, Hawaii, sand, mud, rocks, and they are perfect everywhere, so comfortable and so easy to clean. They actually faded a bit so the color is not as intense anymore but still I’ve got a ton of complements from all different kinds of people. I’m planning to buy another pair, just waiting for a cool design. Thank you Danner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Out of the box and ready to go I received these as a gift after complaining about body aches after 2-7 mile walks for exercise (I’m in my 30s). They have been my go to shoe since. Right out of the box they have been super comfortable and ready for walks. I will say that they took a couple walks to really break them in (they’ve gotten more comfortable the more I’ve worn them), but I could have gone on a long walk without problems right from the get go. My body hasn’t hurt. No blisters. No rubbing. I did size up (I’m between a 10 and 10.5) and I don’t regret it. Would highly recommend. Definitely a great first experience with Danner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricy but great for my narrow feet [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this and a Vasque model, both of which were said to run narrow. I knew nothing about Danner but liked the features and look of the shoe. I'm keeping the Danners. It combines a snug fit in mid-foot with a nice, roomy toe box and a very stable, grippy platform. I haven't been on the trail since i got them a couple days ago, but they seem like they won't need much breaking in. I wear a 7.5 shoe and bought them in an 8 and that seems just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these on a whim before a trip to Colorado. Definitely one of my better last minute decisions. I wore them hiking two days in a row, and they were so comfortable straight out of the box. No break in time, no blisters or rubbing. Bonus points for actually looking good too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am in love with I am in love with these shoes. I wore them every day for two weeks walking around the neighborhood, on the treadmill and to Body Pump to break them in before my trip. I wore them hiking and climbing rugged butte and sandstone trails. We do a lot of extreme trails. These are by far my favorite. They are lightweight, shock absorbing and provide stability where you need it. I have plantar fasciitis, and I had no flare-ups wearing these for 10 days of hiking all day. Thank you Danner! Now to clean them for my next adventure. For reference, I am 51 years old, 5’6” and 130 lbs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not much arch support I purchased my first pair of Danner hiking boots this winter and loved them! I have high arches and a narrow foot so it can be difficult to find a comfortable shoe. The boots have excellent arch support...so much that I haven’t added insoles to them yet. Naturally, I was expecting the same level of support from these sneakers, but...nope. The sole extends out far enough on the inside of footbed for stability, but the arch support is minimal. I added my own insoles and they feel much better but for the price, I expected more. They should hold up fine for casual trails this summer, but I would not hike in these on rough terrain. On the plus side, they are true to size (I go a half size up for hikers), super lightweight and cute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best trail shoe ever [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having spent many dollars on shoes to use for short to moderate hikes I am thrilled to have discovered the Danner brand and this particular shoe. I tried other brands, Merrell, Keen, Columbia, and all either hurt or gave me blisters so I continued to go back to a comfortable pair of 10 yr old Skechers which had many miles on them. The Danner Women's Trail 2650 shoes are perfect right out of the box, so comfortable, no break in needed, and I will be ordering the waterproof version as well.

Danner builds boots for their intended use. You'll find that our styles fit differently depending on how they should perform in the field.

-Right out of the box your hiking boots should feel somewhat snug on the sides of your feet (you aren't sliding side-to-side) with a little room at the toes (you don't want your toes to touch the tip of the boot just standing on flat ground).

-Make sure when you walk your heel doesn't slide up the back of the boot substantially.

-Make sure that you aren't feeling any pinching or pain while walking around your house. If you feel pinching at your big or little toe you probably need a wider boot or perhaps a larger size.

-Your work boots should match the anatomical make-up of your foot, widening slightly in the toe-box for a secure platform to stand on.

-Right out of the box you should feel comfort, cushion and support underfoot, for long days on your feet.

-You may feel that they're slightly stiff or snug right out of the box, but after a few weeks of break-in they should move easier at the flex points and conform to your foot, fitting like a glove.
