Deuter Aircomfort Back System
The heart of the Aircomfort system is a flexible spring steel frame. It is extremely durable and provides stable tension for the airy back mesh and creates the ventilation space between pack and wearer's back, which lets moist air escape. The end result is up to 25% less perspiration while you hike, which in turn reduces circulatory stress and helps increase endurance, all tested and proven by the renowned Research Institute Hohenstein.

Futura 28I had the older Futura 28 with the two separate main compartments and absolutely loved this pack. I used it to house my camera gear in the top compartment and my hiking gear and jacket in the bottom. This made it easy to access gear for either need. It’s unfortunate a pack in this size and configuration is no longer available. I loved the zipper top for getting camera gear in and out without having to deal with a top load flap and draw string to keep it tight. Made everything quick to access.
Mine was recently stolen and I am trying to source a replacement. Am I correct in that this configuration has been discontinued? Or do you know of a source I could purchase the older style still?

Comfortable[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this pack for day hikes. The first time I used it however was in a very urban setting. We took the kids to a museum. Long story short I ended up carrying purses, water bottles, hats, and any other “heavy thing” everyone else no longer could.
When we were on the outdoor part of the site, the vented back helped keep sweating to a minimum.
I am a 5’10 woman and it fit perfectly. I recommend this pack.

Great Bag[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this a little over a month ago and I'm really enjoying it so far. Love the support system and the vented back. You're still going to sweat, but this helps. How for the bladder tube to feed out is a little tight for my Osprey bladder but it works. Go pockets are a great feature. Overall I'd definitely recommend and the price was great.

Great Day Pack (or good few night pack)[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Back ventilation is why I bought this pack and it rocks that category, to the point when you can feel a breeze go across you back if the winds hit the right angle. pockets are good, water bottle point in the right direction and can fit a normal Nalgene. The outside stuff pocket is narrow but deep so you need to rollup your jacket to get it to fit, and sleeping bags could be a tough fit. Main big pocket is roomy, other zippered pocket is also deep and narrow but has another small zippered pocket and mesh pouches to organize! Hip pockets fit anything you would keep in there like bars, snacks, and my iPhone 8 Plus, so very roomy too. chest strap can move up and down for easy fitting.
Issues: I wish they had a better hook for water reservoir, its just a Velcro strap that doesn't seem strong enough/big enough to hold up two bags at once. the shoulder straps are thick and dont dry to quickly after getting wet.

GREAT overall pack ![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pack has everything possible to make a hike much more enjoyable.
I think the best feature is the ventilation system in the back. It has a very large open space so your back will not get sweaty.
Great pockets and the size is perfect for a day hike.
Love it !

Deuter Men's Packs
Deuter technical and backpacking packs are offered in One Size for each volume, and feature an adjustable torso range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of a pack, and follow the steps below to determine your torso size.
Deuter hipbelts are adjustable to accommodate most any wearer.
HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE 1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.
2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.
3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
