Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gone flat I recently got back into tent camping and decided to pick up a new air mattress. I ordered the Exped mega mat 10 sleeping pad because all the excellent reviews. I had it within 2 days (great shipping) went camping that weekend and the air slowly leaked out through out the night. Not happy at all!! Did the online return and received a brand new one all wrapped up nice and pretty with tags and instructions. I'm positive the first one was used and defective. No instructions and wrapping. No leaks now and sleeping like a baby in the great outdoors. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slept like a baby I bought this pad after multiple disappointments from other brands. Most comfortable nights sleep I have ever had in the woods. Easy to set up and the included pump makes quick work of the final adjustments. Packs down smaller than I anticipated for such a large pad. On top of that, the oversize stuff sack made breaking camp a breeze. I have used the megamat on two camping trips and as a bed when crashing at a buddies house. Couldn't be happier. Super stoked I finally pulled the trigger on a great mat. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Great for car camping!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not thrilled Bought this to replace a 15 year old Thermarest pad which I was too thin. The Exped seemed like a good choice based on the thickness. I used it for a week camping in the Big Cypress National Preserve in Florida. First night I thought it was too soft and I seemed to roll around on it a lot so I added more air. Next four nights were no better. Seems that the more I added air the less comfortable it became. When I would sleep on my side it felt like it was rolling me off the edge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels like Cheating This mat is great if you don't mind taking up a ton of space, both when in use and when in transport. Be sure to get the air pressure right. Mine was not as comfortable as I had hoped at first, but then I released some air pressure, and it became much more plush. My only thought would be to consider the MegaMat 7.5 version, which is only 3" thick as opposed to the 3.9" you get with the MegaMat 10. I have never tried the 7.5 and I am curious if the added bulk of the 10 is worth it. But I always say, if you're going to be a bear, be a grizzly. And the MegaMat 10 is the Grizzly king of the sleeping pad world. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than an air mattress, plush n' comf I developed severe chronic pain a few years ago and reluctantly sold my Thermarest Trail Pro. Camping has been out of the question. Worse, it kills me to sleep on air mattresses when visiting people inside. Travel and camping were out, and it sucked. I tried an Exped SynMat and some target foam, thinking it would be more portable, but it was just too wobbly. But then, I read about this pad, and had a chance to test out a version of it at a store. I was impressed! So I pulled the trigger on the wide version and lo and behold, it fits in my backpacking tent, a Big Agnes Copper Spur. (Yes, I'm gonna car camp in a backpacking tent...I didn't know I was going to develop this dumb condition and I'm not quite ready to cash in on a car camping tent yet...) Anyway, it's the dead of winter. I've spend some time on this thing with my tent pitched in my living room and I like that it's very stable, substantial, wide, and comfortable on a body that just isn't. It feels like maybe I could actually camp again, which is really exciting. I'm looking forward to taking it to my parents house for Christmas and using it instead of the air mattresses. It's too bulky to take on a plane without committing to checking a huge suitcase (or maybe it could be a sole carry on)? But it fits fine for a roadtrip in my sedan. I also might let my guests sleep on it...maybe. It's nicer than my full size futon couch. Hot tip...the pump is a little weak. I'll probably go for a big Schnozzle to fill it up fast. Although I had to let a lot of air out...you can get this thing rock hard if you like, but it's comfier a little deflated. It would be too painful to try to sleep outside without this in my condition. So if you're an outdoorsy has-been like me...trying to convince a skeptical spouse...or just have paid your thin-pad dues...this is the ticket. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from slept like a baby Sleeping mats have always been a problem for me. Hard to inflate, cold in winter, spring and fall, and prone to deflating half way through the night. The MegaMat was none of that. It felt more like a bed than a mat. It inflated by itself, with a little help from the included pump, and it held air all night. This is NOT a back packing item. It's bulky, but good for car camping and settings where space is not an issue in the pack phase. It's a pricey item, but you get what you pay for. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect... Inflates pretty quickly. Follow the instructions & just unroll it and leave it with the dongle in the inflate valve for a few hours at first & after it's been stored for a while. The edges aren't exactly square but close; there seems to be a dip in the mattress right where my hips would be. It can be inflated for super firm support or varying degrees of softness. The material seems resilient and is non-slip. I wonder if a two stage inflation would help, like a pillow pad on top of the main pad? There are crosswise ridges that do show up on the pictures, tho ever so lightly. They are a curiosity but they don't bother my comfort. Overall pretty good, and with a couple tweaks, could be awesome. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only one little issue Bought two pads and have been using pretty steadily for a month now. Very comfortable for sure. And no under floor drafts. Both did not inflate after a couple hours the first time out of bag. One has been left inflated for the month after blowing it up with a pump. It has not lost a bit of air. The other was deflated after a week and when reinflated it did partially inflate on its own this time. Still not as I thought the description said. That is not much to sacrifice really as the comfort quality is so great.

How do you store this pad. I'm thinking this pad could substitute for a extra bed 4 company.

Asked by: Annie1
Hey Annie1, thanks for the question! This pad rolls up and packs into its included pack sack upon deflation, approximately 31" long and 9" in diameter. I hope this helps!
