Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trying to decide? Don't, just get it. I'm a fan of Fjallraven from living in Sweden. My friend (who is Swedish) still wearing his original Greenland Jacket from 1980! It showed age (which made it look even cooler) but had no signs of tearing/ripping/wearing through despite over 30 yrs of wear! With greenland wax you can make it as water/weatherproof as you like. Living in San Fran, waxed it and I’ve been dry ever since (despite rain like a waterfall) and it’s completely windproof! Jacket alone=Fall/Early Spring, for winter put on a sweater. In Scandinavia this is they're go to jacket when ice fishing with just a thermal & shirt on. Also lifetime free repair policy; ever get a rip/tear, just send it in and they'll fix it free.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, horrible zipper I love this jacket. It's stylish, comfortable and most of it is well made. Seriously, I feel good when I wear it and get compliments (unlike any other jacket I've owned for the past 15 years). My only complaint is the zipper seems to be really cheap. Mine broke after about 7 hours of wear and I'm really bummed out about it but I'm not going to send it back. Rather, I will just use the buttons until I get around to getting the zipper replaced. Would I recommend this jacket? Absolutely. Just be aware that the zipper sucks and it is not a cold weather jacket but rather a shell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific jacket for most all weather I've got this jacket in the greenish-brown configuration and it is pretty much perfect. I've worn in with a base layer and been fine well below the freezing point and I've worn it on warmer days when I've just needed a bit of wind protection. ,,I'm about 6'1" and 155lbs and a medium is pretty much perfect, size-wise. ,,There's not too much to it, so I'm not sure if I could justify the price, were it not on sale, but I hear they're fairly durable and I believe it, so I'll probably have it for quite some time. ,,If you're on the fence, just go for it. You won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket It's not as thick as I thought it would be, but I really like it and it is good for fall weather or winter with a fleece underneath. It also looks really cool and is different than the jackets that everyone else wears. I'm very satisfied. The uncle blue color is slightly lighter than what you see in the picture.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small hood, great pockets, good shell esp. w/ wax Hood is very fitted. Love the front pockets. No insulation whatsoever and not great wind resistance . . . until you add wax. Then looks great and very water and wind resistant. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zipper Fail, Cute Fox Positives: We all bought it for the cute fox patch. Awesomeness. Wax a jacket? Cool beans. Love to watch the rain and melting snow bead up on my shoulders. This is just a shell. Won't keep you warm unless you have the right clothes underneath, and it has the capacity for some big layers if need be. Best of all? The hood. FIts snugly, doesn't let air blow through, doesn't impede peripheral vision, turns with your head.,,,,Negatives: Only one. The zipper. I never had a jacket where I pondered the first zip fail rate before. This jacket has a first zip fail rate of 50%. It's wrong handed, compared to other zippers, and it doesn't seat itself when you take it off. If I mentally image myself zipping it up for a minute before my hands touch the zipper, I can improve that rate, but even with my utmost concentration, it still fails often enough to mention. But when you finally get it zipped, you have a cool Arctic fox on your shoulder.

Does the zipper fail as often as the reviews seem to suggest above?

Asked by: Simon
Yes, but I live in Sydney... so returns are not cheap or easy?

I'm 5'11 and 180lbs and a Xlarge fjällräven shirt is almost perfect. A tad roomy but a large is tight. Other brands I easily wear large, sometimes medium. These reviews lead me to believe I should go the other direction with this jacket. Any input?

Asked by: PjWulfman
Hey there! If you do not intend to wear anything underneath - no sweaters or layers, you could go with a large. But, most people that wear this with anything remotely thicker than a t-shirt, they find the jacket starts to kind of tighten its grips on their midsection. So, first figure out if you will wear a sweater or thicker base layer under this jacket. If yes, follow the same method you did for the shirt and go with the XL. If you will not be layering, the large will most likely fit you just perfectly and not feel too tight!
