I made a great choice![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago and have used it for 2 trips. I load my packs pretty heavy compared to most as I like to bring a few extras. The back comfort is pretty much unmatchable. Super convenient features for access points as well as my water bottle, which some people may not think is a big deal, but it’s nice when you can grab and put it back yourself. Zippers, clips, cord pulls and anything that needs to be tightened or loosened are super easy to use and high quality. I’m a happy camper and very happy I chose this pack. It does not disappoint.

Awesome! As a girl with broader shoulders this bag fit me wonderfully, as soon as all the straps are tightened properly carrying this bag was not a problem. I purchased this bag for a 5 month solo backpacking trip around Europe and I regret nothing, having the opening from the front and top is so great for quick access, the bag is sturdy and held its own. I have a pretty bad back from many years of competitive swimming so the extra support was needed and the bag did not cause me any pain or discomfort. Can't wait to take it on more adventures

Very well made and stylish packI have been trying to get into backpacking for the past ten years, but haven't been able due to injury and other situations. I have slowly been growing my gear and moving more towards lighter; backpacking friendly gear. This pack fits the bill all around. I have always had cheaper packs in the past and I had no idea how much a quality product makes a difference. I have already hiked 50+ miles with 40+ lbs. in the pack and this thing is perfect for the heavy loads. I love all the adjustments that can be made on the fly, to make sure the pack fits just right. I also like the front zipper access to the interior of the main compartment. Makes it easier to get to items when in a hurry. Another feature I like is the removable water bladder holder, that turns into a daypack/hydration pack when removed. This pack has it all and with it's quality make and materials, I know it will last me for years to come. Great pack and worth the money!

This is a great pack - bring on long spring weekends!!I have been carrying heavy packs for more than 35 years (yes, THAT just dated me!), and I can easily say that this is one of the most comfortable, and more importantly for me, well ventilated, packs I have ever owned. I have had numerous packs from another manufacturer, and this Baltoro is beaks and wings above anything I have ever had from that other brand. The fit is great (I am just over 6-feet tall, average proportions, and 190lbs), and the reach of the straps and adjustability of the suspension hits the bill right out of the box. I love the generous places to clip extraneous things to, maximizing the internal space for other packables. I spent 10 years in mountain rescue, and with the versatility, fit, and relative light weight, this would have been a great strike back for overnights when carrying lots of necessary gear. If there is one hesitation, it is that the lightweight nature may result in a tear if you are careless - I got a small snag climbing through some downed logs - caught a sharp branch in just the right place. But if you are remotely careful (I tend to be hard on gear (see, rescue mindset)) and probably could be a bit more mindful, but literally that is my only concern.

Feature filled packAlthough I haven't used this pack yet, I did choose it over the Osprey Atmos. It was a close decision. The Baltoro is much easier to get in and out of, has multiple pockets in the lid and comes with a rain cover. The hydration bladder sleeve can also be removed and used as a daypack. It can be used as a top loader or there is a zipper to open the entire back. The price was unbeatable too! My only complaint is that the hip belt pockets are too small, only big enough for your keys and a granola bar! The zippers on the hip belt pockets work great with one hand though. The sleeping bag compartment seemed a little larger too.

Rockstar pack!I had to renew my pack last year which resulted in a ton or research and try-on sessions. I was hesitating between a different brand pack and the Baltoro 65.
I am glad I went with the Baltoro. It does everything I want it to do on the trail and more. I love the back support, it filters a lot of the moisture that can build up on your back while on tough inclines. I have been on steep trail sections with close to 50 pounds in the pack and it did not move, the support is incredible.
The straps are all super sturdy and allow for a ton of weight management/flexibility.
I use my pack monthly and cannot get enough of it! Outstanding job with this pack Gregory!

Great Pack-Well DesignedSo far I've used this on a couple weekend camping trips. It continues to surprise me with little features that are just so well thought out in it's design. It has a lot of individual pockets and compartments to keep things organized. I haven't used it with a full load yet but it sits well on my back and keeps the weight where you want it. I'm 5'10" and I got the small size as I don't have the biggest torso, this fits great. Overall no complaints, really enjoying the functionality so far. The one thing that is true for a lot of people myself included is the hip belt waterproof compartment is too small for most cell phones but I don't keep mine there so not an issue for me

Preliminary experience: solid product[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this Gregory backpack for an anticipated multi-day trip in the Grand Canyon. In training for the trip, I wore the backpack on multiple day hiking trips as well as an overnight trip in Colorado. Overall it seems like a very high-quality backpack and I really liked the available pockets. The adjustments and the way it fit were excellent. I did check out 3 other backpacks before landing on this one which seems to fit me great. I do wish it had one or two more smaller externally accessible pockets. Due to this I would have given the product 4.5 rating if it were available. PS weather aborted theGC trip due to snowstorm:(

Gregory Men's Packs
Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.
The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.
HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE 1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.
2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.
3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
