Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down my FAVORITE multi day backpack! The Deva 70 is hands down the BEST backpack I've ever owned. I work in the outdoor industry and I've tried numerous brands/styles and this has won by a landslide. This sturdy bag is built for comfort (which is why it's heavier than other packs). It's the ideal bag for long multi day hiking trips because: -5/5 comfort levels. Their's lot's of cushioning in the harness and straps helping the individual carry the weight comfortably for long periods of time. -The harness includes small pockets perfect for storing snacks, lip balm, or a small camera. -The exterior side pocket is deep enough for a water bottle. -Includes a lightweight rain cover. -Hydration compatible. -Includes a lightweight day pack excellent for small day trips when traveling/hiking. -Various ways to access inside the bag (top, bottom and a zip that opens the bag like a suitcase making it extremely functional whether you're on trails or traveling abroad). I will continue to suggest this backpack to my friends, family members and other outdoor enthusiasts! Thanks Gregory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I'd want in a pack The Deva is well-made with its users in mind. It features a weatherproof pocket for phone on the hip belt (which I wish was SLIGHTLY larger) and a generous mesh pocket for everything else. The sleeping bag compartment, included day pack, water bottle holder, rainfly, and generous inside volume are big pluses (my bear vault 500 fits easily). It's attractive, fits my back and shoulders perfectly, carries well, and my friends all want one now. I did have hip chafing from the belt on my first outing, but Gregory will send a larger one to try. In all, I'm happy with the product, Gregory, and this purchase from Mountain Steals, which has become my new go-to. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luxury backpacker MUST! Durable, ton of pockets, a lot of room. We use these packs all year round. Great for winter camping when the load is bulky and heavy. Plenty of straps to cinch your load tight for the summer when you don't carry as much. We are luxury backpackers. That means we carry extra items. This pack helps us get it where we are going and still be able to be functional at the end of a long hike and a lot of work left to do setting up camp. With our tent, tarp, helinox chairs, hatchet, saw, kindle, books, extra food and treats, extras extras and extras. Great pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pack! All of our family go-to packs are Gregory's. They are the most comfortable, easily packable packs we've used. (We've used Lowe Alpine and Osprey, as well.) This Deva is great! It is my daughter's pack. It is very comfortable for her to carry fully loaded. For the weight, this pack carries easily. The forward-canted water bottle pouch is a great addition, as is the thoughtful, easily separated daypack stashed inside. The fact that this comes with a rain cover - bonus! We love our Gregory packs! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's like the Cadillac of packs This thing is the jam, as in, really awesome, but also as in, slightly heavy as one would imagine a full jar of jam to be. 5 stars for awesome, but minus one star for heavy. I love all the bells and whistles- the quick-draw water bottle pocket, the included rain cover, the great side/top pockets. It fits our bear canister (BV500) perfectly in the bottom compartment. The handy little daypack included is a nice treat too- a good way to transport water bottles to the lake for filling or similar tasks. The fit system is pretty stellar, too. I'm 5'6" and was surprised to be a size small, but it does fit great. I'm also rather buxom and find the fit to be no problem. This was the right pack for me since I'm carrying 2 peoples' stuff (I adventure with a kindergartener) and it's going to weigh a ton regardless. After using it for 2 2-night trips and a handful of one-nights this season, I'm quite pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deva Packs Rock Just received--have only used on short hikes and long walks so far, but I know the Deva 70 will be as perfect a pack for me as my Deva 60 (which I've had for over 10 years and is still in awesome shape). This older model Deva 70 is much better than the new (which tries to be an Osprey--boo! hiss!), with features like zippered outside pockets rather than an elastic pouch. The pack runs short--I am 5'7" and was measured by a dealer as a SM, but I had to send that back (ouch! Shipping fees!) for a MD, which is ideal, with a size SM hip belt. Thanks for the free exchange on the hip belt, Gregory. I *love* the pink trim, raincover, and removable day pack. Wish the exterior blue were a little lighter/brighter. Can't wait to take this on an expedition in Argentina!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The IDEAL multi-day backpack I was researching large (65 L +) backpacks for a few months and had narrowed my options down to a few models. This is the 2015 model which was Backpacker Magazine Editor's Choice. Thus I was able to snag a great pack for a great price. Gregory produces thoughtfully-created packs with many useful features. Many compartments are available and are easily accessible. The fabric, zippers, and straps are high-quality. I especially like the waterproof, generous-sized hip pockets. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wide shoulder straps I ordered this for my wife. She said that this pack is everything that she was looking for in a backpack except the shoulder straps are wider than most packs for females and was unable to carry this pack without the straps overlapping onto her breast and causing great discomfort. She contacted Gregory to find out if maybe they have more narrow straps to purchase and they do not. For that reason we had to reluctantly return this pack. She was heartbroken. This pack will work out great for women will smaller breast.

Size Guide

Gregory Women's Packs

Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.

The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.

HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE
1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
