Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable pack for light and fast backpacking! I've taken this pack on all kinds of fast and light trips. From Gannet Peak in the Wind Rivers to Mt Rainier it has held up very well. My favorite thing is how well it carries for a light weight pack, at first I thought I'd compromise comfort for weight. I was pleasantly proven wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. Several weekend trips put in so far on this bag. I love the construction for back support and weight distribution. Low back issues while completing 10-20 mile days don't exist for me anymore! Versatile pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfort in the Backountry If you're looking for a comfortable and lightweight backpack for your adventures than this is the bag for you! The hip belt wraps around my hips perfectly, allowing for proper weight distribution onto my hips vs. my shoulders. Small pockets on the hip belt gives quick access to snacks, phone, sunscreen etc. The Maven has several adjustment areas including, the torso length, and waist belt which is fantastic for people looking to invest in a bag that can be shared by different people. I also love the different ways to access the interior of the bag (top loading and side). I foresee the side zip coming in handy when travelling around the world as you won't have to dig around for items located at the bottom of your backpack. Other features I like about the Maven are: the front pocket for easy access to a rain jacket/warm layers, includes a rain cover, deep side pockets for water bottles, and the clip inside can attach to a water bladder. The only downside to this bag for me personally, is the rough fabric used for the shoulder straps which has caused chaffing on my neck and shoulders when wearing certain t-shirts and tank tops. I'd also like to see a small mesh, zippered pocket on the interior to store valuables. All in all, the Maven is an excellent backpack for outdoor adventures.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Extremely disappointed I just got back from using this bag for the first time. The total weight was 35 lbs on the heaviest (first) day. -the front stuff pocket developed holes in it (it had gloves, a hat, mosquito head net, microspikes in a safety bag, and toilet paper & trowel in a ziploc bag). None of these items were pointy (all points were well covered) and it developed several holes over the course of 6 days. -The side water bottle holder held my Sawyer squeeze bag (usually empty, sometimes half-full) and mini tripod, the seam unraveled and a hole developed from the seam. -my bv500 fit perfectly inside, except the bag ripped where the little bumps on the bearVault were. Literally the first time I put the bv inside it ripped... my bag wasn't even fully packed. -the rain cover was not waterproof, I got caught in a hail & rain storm on day 4 and my entire bag was soaked. Luckily, I had used a garbage bag to line the inside the whole trip, so that kept my stuff dry. -other random seams started to unravel/wear throughout the rest of the bag. I wasn't rough with my gear. I handled it in a normal fashion. None of my other items failed except for the bag. Maybe I got a lemon, but I would not recommend this bag to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around excellent backpack Purchased for climbing. Carries great with all the gear + food + water, with room to spare. Excellent features at a decent price point (especially when you’re getting those triple reward $$$ back). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Size Guide

Gregory Women's Packs

Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.

The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.

1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
