Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mach 2 Is The Real Deal After running in several 2018 Hokas and liking them both (Elevon when I was paranoid about needing super support, and Clifton 5 which I loved but was still so plush and gave me a hot spot on long runs), I realized I needed a less-plush shoe for marathon race day. Mach 1 did not fit the bill, so I looked forward to trying on Mach 2. It is the real deal. However, it is absolutely a half size big, and for some will be a full size big (I returned my "normal" size for a half size down and still have plenty of room). This will be my marathon race day shoe thanks to its combination of a firm yet bouncy, stable ride and protection via stack height and that traditionally wide forefoot .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing upper, weird sizing First, this is the best fitting Hoka shoe I've ever worn. The upper is super plush and the toebox is surprisingly roomy!! However, the sizing of the Mach 2 is completely different than the Mach 1. I wore a size 11 (US mens) in the Mach 1, but I walked out in a size 10 in the Mach 2's. For those of you upgrading from the M1's, be prepared to order a FULL SIZE DOWN. For reference, I wear a size 11 in the Speedgoat 2 and 10.5 in the Clifton 3 and 4.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe, fast and responsive, poor durability I've put in almost 170mi with this pair in a little more than 2 months. Shoes feel great. Right amount of cushion vs responsiveness. I wish they lasted longer. After ~100mi I noticed the upper separating from the midsole. Kept running in them and now that separation is about 4cm. Rest of the shoe has plenty of life, but it's disappointing the upper doesn't hold up. Went with 4stars (but was torn between 3 and 4 stars) because the tear doesn't seem to effect the structure of the shoe. I'm able to still run in them, but just disappointed the shoe doesn't make it past 200 miles without breaking down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect shoe! Corrected Mach flaws, but runs 1/2 size large. My favorite shoe of all-time since I started running 15 years ago. Previous favorite show was the Huaka that was discontinued. Much better than previous version with more room in the toes, better fit in the arch, improved tongue, and laces that stay tied. Love running in these shoes from speed work to long runs. Perfect shoe for me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! Excellent running shoe! I've been looking or a replacement to the Huaka's I've been running in for the last three years. This shoe is close, it's got a wide toebox which I want, but it is quite wide through the rest of the shoe which I don't really want. I've fixed this by tightening the laces. The responsiveness is great, it is a little squishier than the Huaka, but much better than most other Hoka shoes I've tried. I will be buying another pair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe, super light and cushioned Trying to find a more cushioned shoe after another brand caused PF. These Mach 2 are the ideal solution

Rated 3 out of 5 by from V2 too firm The OG Mach is my go-to marathon racing and training shoe - lightweight, smooth transition and excellent cushioning, albeit a little on the narrow side. The Mach 2 widens the forefoot a tad and feels like it's made of more premium materials, however, the midsole is much firmer and I struggle to go beyond half marathon race distance with these. Loving the weight and transition of these shoes, just hoping v3 brings back the softness while remaining responsive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but big I've run in these for almost the past month, everything from fast 3 milers to mid-distance trail runs on dry trails. They are nice and light, responsive enough for mixed trail/road runs, but cushioned enough that I'd probably take them past marathon distance. My original Machs lasted around 600 miles. These don't look/feel as durable, but I have yet to see any major wear points. My one issue, is that they seem to run pretty big. I have low volume feet, and buying a half size down from what I normally wear in some other brands my original Machs were already almost too big. I got the same size in these, and they fit enough to use, but definitely feel a bit clumsy. I'm exchanging them for a half size down (a full size smaller than I wear in some other brands). Hopefully that does it.
