Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Nimble. Great for racing or everyday training. The Torrent has been my go-to trail shoe for the last two years. I have had 5 pairs of the previous version and I feel like the Torrent 2 has been just as good if not better. I work at a running shop and have the luxury of trying a lot of different shoes from different brands but this shoe is a true quiver killer. I have worn it from 10 mile trail races to 55k races and it has worked great! The lifespan on these are shorter than a lot of brands; usually 300-400 miles for me. But that's the price you pay for having a moderately cushioned shoe for how light and nimble it is. I am 12.5 in most brands but size down to 12 for most Hokas.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Durability issues I really enjoyed these shoes. They provide a healthy amount of cushioning for their responsiveness. Recently purchased a second pair of these after the lugs on the first pair began peeling off at only around 100 miles. Lo and behold the second pair began peeling as well around 100 miles. They both peeled near the heel in multiple locations, and it was bad enough on both to create a trip hazard coming downhill on rocky/rooty NH terrain. I was also surprised at the amount the rubber lugs had worn in that time period. Just use an ounce extra of rubber to connect all the lugs and not create the potential for peel and I'd buy more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best trainer and racer for 50k or under This shoe is similar to the original which is a VERY good thing IMHO. They improved several areas including build quality. I saw one other reviewer mentioned still no lock down. I have no clue what this means. I have an average foot, maybe more on the narrow side, and this shoe locks my heel down perfectly. My biggest test for a shoe is to take it down a very steep and technical trail. If I have no slippage and I feel secure then it's a winner. This shoe is a winner. Hoka is killing it in 2020. I would say if you need a solid trainer or racer for anything under 50k this is it. 50k to 100 or 200 miles get the EVO or Speedgoat 4 for the extra cushion. The torrent 2 is insanely light and even slightly lighter then my EVO which is mind blowing. If you have hobbit feet then you may want something else, maybe the SG4 in wide, if not get this shoe! It will be one of the best trail shoes this year. Mark my words.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trail shoe extraordinaire Torrent to serve me really well hiking 5 to 8 miles a day for a week on varied and pretty steep terrain. But also super comfortable for the casual dog walk around the neighborhood. Love that it is more low to the ground than some of the more plush offerings, which I don't feel give me the springiness in maneuverability of the more responsive shoe like torrent. I drove myself a bit crazy researching whether to go with speed goat or Gaviota or zinial. In the end I think these are terrific shoe a great grippy soul, quite narrow and supportive. Feel a bit like my super comfy hupana with the extra grippy sole.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lugs Peeling off after One Run Wanted to rate as 5 stars after 1st run due to great comfort and traction over all types of terrain. Problem is that heel lugs on one shoe are torn and peeling off after only 5 miles!!! This is a Trail shoe, and shouldn't fall apart. The sole design to save weight makes durability a dubious prospect. It should be one piece. VERY DISAPPOINTED because I want to LOVE this shoe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lug peeled off on the first run! I was a big fan of the speedgoat2, and wanted to try the torrent line. First run part of the lug peeled off, and ever since on every run part of it would come un-glued. It's becoming a ritual to bust out the super glue myself after every run. Samething on my friend's pair and seems like a common problem. AVOID THIS SHOE! I rarely leave product reviews, but this was bad enough and common enough that it's a shame on the brand. AVOID THIS SHOE!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved the first iteration of Torrent, these not so much. I bought about 10 pairs of the first Torrents and told everyone how great they were. When I couldn't find them anymore, I got the Torrent2's and was immediately bummed. They didn't fit my foot anymore and even worse, I didn't like the color scheme. It is confusing to me why shoe companies do this stuff to a perfectly good shoe. The Torrent 1's lasted forever, had incredible grip on all surfaces, light and just the right amount of cush. So sad. And I miss the old colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite shoes Uses: trail running, hiking. What I love about it: Lightweight, comfortable -- I forget they're on. Perfect fit for average width feet, size 9. The shoe laces are something else: they're flat, tough, yet flexible, and seem incapable of coming loose. Traction is real and confidence-inspiring. What I don't love about it: Fine sand will get through, but that's unavoidable, as far as I'm concerned, if you want breathable uppers.

HOW to MESAURE
If you are unsure which shoe size to purchase, please follow the below steps:

1. Trace the outline of each foot on a piece of paper.

2. In a straight line from the middle of the heel to the longest toe, measure the length of each foot.

3.If one foot is longer than the other, take the larger measurement and compare to the chart. Foot length will determine your shoe size - round up or down to the closest size within 2mm.
