Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Product I spent a lot of time researching the best base layer for my camping trip(s) and kept running into reviews of people raving about merino wool. So, I scoured the Internet for the best merino wool brands and Icebreaker was consistently at the top. I decided to give it a try and pay for the quality that they promised and...they are everything I wanted and more. I’m very tall and lean but my 260 Tech Long Sleeve Crewe Thermal Top and matching Leggings with Fly fit perfectly and are made of the most comfortable material I’ve ever worn. And it kept me toasty in near freezing temperatures! I highly recommend the investment, as you won’t regret it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from quality has gone way down I bought one of these a few years ago, and now I know why I haven't bought any more. Stretches easily around the neck, and is misshapen, even though I washed it in cold water & line dried it. I'll avoid icebreaker from now on. Very poor quality, wast of over $100 !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stay Warm All Winter! I bought this merino base layer to keep my son warm in college in Boston this winter. Icebreaker merino base layers are super thin but really warm without adding bulk. The don't itch or sweat, and wick moisture away from the skin both keeping you warm and repelling smells. You can wear these multiple days in a row without them getting smelly. I love Icebreaker products and Mountain Steals is the best place to buy them - so much less expensive than Amazon or the Icebreaker website! Since buying this one I have bought several more pieces from Icebreaker on this website. Everything arrives quickly and each item has been exactly as it is described on the site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lives up to the Hype ... Every Bit! I work outdoors. In Nebraska. In Winter. Need I say more? It's not just cold ... it's frigid. My cousin, a commercial fisherman in Alaska, told me about Icebreaker merino wool. It was hard to believe anything could make a difference greater than just layering, or really be any better. Wrong! This stuff lives up to the hype in every way. I can do my job without bulk or misery. In comfort. In Nebraska. In Winter. Thanks, Icebreaker!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fine, but deteriorating quality Compared to shirts years ago, quality went downhill when icebreaker was acquired in 2018 by VF Corporation. Fit is fine and it’s comfortable, so it accomplishes the minimum but does not wow like it once did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can a guy admit to liking "cozy" ... ? Cozy comfort. I reach for 200 zone leggings and 200 oasis crewe shirts for backcountry tours. I reach for 200 oasis leggings and this 260 tech crewe for daily casual. The fit of the 260 tech crewe seems slightly less snug than the 200 oasis crewe and the 260 tech fabric seems like it would be a little more grabby with a branch (versus the oasis crewe) on a sweaty glade skin track up. If it is around town, daily winter life, this shirt is on my torso; if it is vertical, the oasis crewe is on my torso. Never bother with half-zips or thumbholes myself at 200 or 260 weight fabrics, just like to keep it simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from midweight base layer top [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing these for many years 6 months per year in Chicago and nothing feels as great and works as well warmth and wicking wise as these. Expensive but buying on sale helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, anti-odor, quick dry * High warmth to weight ratio. * Anti-odor, two to three days between washing. * Quick dry, five hours with a fan. You hear these point all the time - but they are so true. I've been wearing the Icebreaker 260 long-sleeve crew shirt for 8 years. This latest shirts somehow feels thinner than the shirts three years ago. But the overall weight seems the same, and I don't notice a difference in warmth. So I've decided the shirts are just softer. They are easy to clean - just don't use a heated dryer. I accidentally did just that. Now I have four shrunk expensive shirts, tight and showing belly and forearms. I kept them for those really cold outings when I need another layer of warmth. The shirts I used for three years developed small holes. They are still usable. But the holes are growing in size and quantity. I also like they are made of a renewable resource, rather than petroleum.
