Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunate "creep" I am really disappointed to say that these are possibility the creepiest underwear that I have ever worn. The legs rode all the way up, creating some uncomfortable bunching. In addition to that major drawback, the boxer briefs are designed with a central seam running vertically in the back. I don't think that I need to elaborate on what happened with that seam! All in all, the fabric was great, the look was great, but the functional design was shocking. I bought a pair of briefs at the same time, also in medium, and am fairly happy with those. I am very short, stocky, 135 lb, and have a rounder rear end than men's wear often designs for. I farm in wool base layers all the time, and love my other icebreaker products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite boxers! Merino boxers all the way! Let me start with the only con... I wish the waistband were black. That's it. Everything about these boxer briefs is amazing. Not too tight, not too loose. Very Breathable and very odor resistant. Believe me, I have put them to the test. I have about 6 of these. They are the only boxers I bring when I go on extended backpacking trips, and on short ski trips. They pack small and because they are merino, you do not have to bring a lot of pairs (gross to people who are not yet on the merino wagon, but trust me.) I do not plan on wearing any other boxer briefs for the foreseeable future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ambivalent [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fit is great and I do like how I look in them. I was apprehensive about wool underwear. But I let myself be swayed by the marketing (comfortable, will keep you warm, will keep you cold, will do it all, etc.). Maybe I should have trusted my instincts, though. Wool does feel itchy and even just around the house I feel some chafing which isn't a problem I've had with underwear before. Finally, for a pair of boxers this expensive, I can't understand why the tag is sewn-in. Is that a law or something? It's very annoying and I was told by customer service that using a seam ripper to remove the tag would void the warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from They changed the design I used to love these and virtually every pair of underwear I have are anatomica. But the last few pairs I bought now have a waistband that’s sits about an inch higher than the original design. The sizing varies even within the same labeled size. Unfortunately, the overall quality seems to have declined. These are not inexpensive and I wish that the company had more consistent quality control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from order 1 size up; exceptional regardless i rotate 7 pairs of these specific icebreakers among other lesser underwear. i am a 36-38" waste and 6'5, 235lbs. I usually fit into xl with plenty of room regarding other brands, but icebreakers are true to size; not in the oversize american sense. the xl definitely work for me, but are almost snug. i ordered two xl during a mental lapse while a few miles from being able to reference what was in my dresser drawer. for me, the xxl is like a fancy hotel with a big ballroom. as long as I take it easy at the christmas buffet and keep commuting by bicycle, the xl work fine and keep me honest. bravo, icebreaker. you are the real deal

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My life until this moment has been wasted. Why didn’t anyone tell me about wool underwear?! Once you experience having your man-parts comfortably swaddled in a fine wool sweater, you’ll never go back to cotton again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boxer review Material is very soft and nice to touch. It’s quite thin which is also nice but may effect durability. My biggest issue with this pair is that it does ride up somewhatAnd it’s shady not super long to begin with. And maybe this is a more specific to me issue, but my wider than usual thighs end up rubbing together which is bothersome. I can wear them now only with tighter pants that don’t let my thighs rub together to begin with which somewhat defeats the purpose of getting “luxury” boxer briefs. I think the boxer briefs with a longer inseam might work better if you fit my description. All of this considered, if you have thighs that don’t contact each other at all when you walk, you will probably be happy with these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective use tips When first using these shorts I found that the bottom internal seem was not flat like the other seems on the shorts and It was that seem that caused chafing every time I wore them for a walk of over about two miles, so I stopped wearing them any time that much walking was expected. Then when looking at the shorts one day I noticed that ALL the external seems were flat, and thought, hey, why mot try wearing them inside-out and see if having the flat seem at the imside bottom would eliminate the chafing, and sure enough, it did! So inside out Is how I wear my several pair IB’s standard undershorts with no issues as of yet....Much more comfortable on my softer bits. Now about washing the shorts in order to obtain the best wear life from them: Found that a quick shampoo washing of them when shampooing my hair in the shower was a fabric preserving method of cleaning the thin Merino wool, followed by a gentle wringing out and hanging to dry from a plastic hanger. They dry quickly and this method greatly minimizes the fabric life shortening abrasion of the washer and dryer while keeping the merino soft and fresh smelling. Recommend that you try these ideas and see if they make IB shorts a better wear.
