Rated 5 out of 5 by from 30,000 miles cycling the world in Icebreaker! This is my sixth Icebreaker since setting out from Sydney, Australia on January 2, 2017 to cycle around the world. Started with a single Icebreaker jersey. Super clothing—strong, durable, stylish, good in all weather conditions—and I bought a handful more as I pedalled around the globe. 30,000 miles later and the world tour now brought to a close, this latest Icebreaker Descender is as beautiful and stylish and comfortable as the ones I pedalled around the world. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome stand alone or layer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect for over a thin base layer and under a ski jacket and fits like you don't even know it is on. Something I would wear everyday to fend off the morning chill, without a jacket for the skin up, and then as my insulating layer for the ski down. Biggest complaint wiht my icebreaker sweaters is that they can wear out at the elbow and wrists, but hey, that is understandable given that I wear them pretty much everyday and for everything from working around the house to construction projects to moutain biking and skiing. Love these sweaters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Promising! I said that this jacket runs small, but it’s better to note that it truly is a form-fitting jacket. For me, I like to wear a medium in looser clothes, this piece in a large fits how I like. I’m planning to wear to work over a tailored collared shirt. I work between an office and computer data center (cold!) so layering is essential. My other icebreaker jacket is a med but cut larger. I don’t think I could wear this jacket in a medium.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice but with one simple flaw. I like all the features, color, fit, and comfort very much. I'm 5'10" and 160 Lbs, built like a cyclist, and medium was a good fit. My only complaint is the lack of a loop to hang it on a hook. You have to drape it over the hook which can then stretch out a little spot on the back where the hook pushes against the wool. I might try to attach something to the tag so I can hang it like all my other jackets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice. Bought this as a gift, but I haven't worn any Icebreaker myself, so I had to take it for a spin. It's very good looking and seems like a great weight for a cozy, but not too cozy, midlayer (it's a gift so I didn't try anything that would work a sweat in it). For the price I think you're getting solid stylish construction. I'm 6' 175lbs with a 42" chest. I'm usually listed in the "large" range, but I tend to wear midlayers comfortably in medium (and models even bigger than me always wear medium on website pictures, as the model here does). I think it felt a bit too tight, though I can't say it wasn't true to size. I would size up even though this was a midlayer. It would probably still layer under jackets just fine, and the comfort factor will go up a lot. I think it'll be a perfect fit for the giftee, who is a couple inches shorter and more slim than I am, and who likes a slim fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent but for a few minor issues Overall this is a great sweater: the realfleece seems slightly, but meaningfully, warmer than its synthetic counterpart, but breathes so well that the end result is the much sought 'temperature regulation' that allows the garment to keep you warm when it's cold while not making you too hot when it's warmer. As well it's got a wonderfully soft hand, and somehow 'looks like' wool, not plastic. For me the minor issues are as follows: - It's a little too long, hitting a solid 8" below my hips, rather than the more customary 3-4" - I don't like the left-handed zipper - IMO it's a bit too light - a 400G/M2 weight wb perfect for this, vs. the 260. In fairness, it's clearly labelled as 260, but to me this is more lightweight than mid-weight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Limited experience so far but I like it I haven't had a chance to put it to much use now that the weather is changing but so far I really like this. It's going to be a go to for winter trail running and will probably see some use cycling as well. I got the medium, which is a pretty snug fit on my 6'1" 180 lbs. frame but that's what I wanted for how I plan to use this. The good news is, although it's snug, the length was long enough in both the torso and arms to cover my longer body well. I really like merino for high exertion activities as it breathes and regulates temperature well. Hopefully this one holds up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light fleece Great fleece for a jacket in the fall weather. Could also be used as a midlayer in colder months. Wool is very light and still keeps warm, very comfortable and well-fit.
