The Icebreaker Men's Hyperia Hooded Jacket is a packable jacket that's warm enough to carry you through the winter without being too bulky. Shove it (with love) into the stuff sack when traveling and break it out when the temperature drops. The shoulder seams are a little offset, making it so that the straps on your pack won't rub against it and make you uncomfy. Whether you're just traipsing through the forest or going on some seriously adventurous hikes, this jacket keeps you warm and happy.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm & Lightweight Truly a wonderful jacket. Starting at the hood, it's very fitted and tight on the head, and will stay on in heavy wind. The neck/collar are comfy and the shoulders fall well, it's slim, but not so slim that your movement is hampered at all. It's slightly longer than some of the other Icebreaker outerwear I'm used to, which is great in terms of coverage. It looks stellar in black. The material is extremely slick and soft. It's neither noisy nor crinkly, it's simply slick. It seems like it will have a tremendous warmth-to-weight ratio, it's extremely lightweight compared to comparable jackets. Highly recommend; very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy Jacket! Comfortable jacket for everyday wearing. The temperature in Denver hasn't dipped very low this winter but it has served well on chilling morning (down to ~5*F). The jacket is windproof but I have yet to be able to test out of the water resistant claims. I often wear a t-shirt and this jacket and have not felt cold yet during easy walks around town. I tried to wear this on a ski day but it was simply too warm (~20*F) to comfortable wear a long sleeve shirt and a rain jacket. I am 6'2", 175lbs and the jacket fits well with enough room for a couple layers underneath. The hoods fits very well, and I much rather pull the hood on then wear a hood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Love, love, love this jacket! Temp fell to 19 degrees in NYC. I wore the jacket indoors a few hours and was comfortable with it on which made me wonder how well it would work outdoors. When I went out in the cold with merely a t-shirt under my jacket, I was stunned at how comfortable I was--and the hoodie kept my head nice and warm. When it got windy, there was no problem either. Great for travel, no fumbling with a bulky down coat--but it's just as warm--even though it seems more like a light spring jacket. Styling is nice and elegant. Prada could slap their logo on and sell it for ten times as much. It's kinda perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Go-To After a brief use, just wanted to give some feedback on this new jacket. I took it backpacking for a few nights and, frankly, loved it. The Hyperia weighs in at 20 ounces, making it half a pound lighter than my Stratus jacket. With the 180g of Merinoloft, it feels just as warm, but packs down much better. The weight and compression aren't on the level of down insulation, but for all the benefits that merino and merinoloft have to offer (temperature regulating, no stink, warm when wet, etc.), those couple of ounces aren't that big of a deal to me. The jacket has a warm, soft, airy, yet slick feel, with nylon on the interior and exterior. The elastic band around the cuffs and down at the base of the jacket help to shave a little weight while still keeping the warmth trapped close to your body. Needless to say, I was toasty warm the entire trip. At one point the wind really picked up to a point others had to seek shelter because they were too cold...I just stayed and enjoyed the view. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the hood fits MUCH better than the original Stratus jacket; it actually stays on when the wind is howling. All in all, no doubt this is my new go-to jacket for outdoor adventures. The Stratus is still excellent by all means, but I'll be using it more around town, while this will be coming with me to the backcountry--backpacking, hiking, skiing, you name it. I haven't been able to test its insulation extremes yet given the season, but it's feeling just as warm as the Stratus so I have no doubt I'll be quite comfy even when it's well below freezing. Thank you Icebreaker - what a jacket! (Oh, and bonus - roll it up, put it in a stuff sack, and it makes a great pillow!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! Better value on sale. Outstanding jacket for it’s thermal properties. I’m wearing it in Colorado, mid-December, 22 deg F/-5.5 deg C, with only a light base layer and T-shirt and it’s balmy! Can add a thick sweater and maintain mobility. Completely able to shovel snow. Can drop the zipper a little if it gets too hot when I’m moving around a lot. Super lightweight: I guess that’s where the value is. The only minor grievance is how when zipped up the top kind of bunches up under my chin. But that’s because when the hood is up it creates a perfectly enclosed situation. So worth it, but took a moment to get used to when zipped up with hood down.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Almost but not quite I wanted to love this jacket and in many respects I did. The recommended size... large...fit my 6'2" 175 pound frame well with enough extra room for layering. It kept me warm with a light sweater underneath on a raw 39 degree day. My head and neck were well protected with the hood up. The "rub" came when I wore it with the hood down...no matter how I tried to adjust it, the zipper ended up sawing on my neck. For the first time ever, I'm sadly returning an Icebreaker purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket My husband loves this jacket. At first he thought it was a bit thin for our evening winter walks, but he said it’s surprisingly very warm with just a base layer underneath. He wears a waist size 32-33 with an athletic build and the medium fits comfortably, not loose and not skin hugging tight. Only improvements I can think of is maybe a merino lining, especially for the hood and pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Forget I'm outside and its freezing. Recently purchased and have been able to take some long walks in 20F temperatures. Temperature regulation is incredible. I have been amazed to be outside in freezing temperatures with a t-shirt and this jacket and warm to the core. I can't wait tho try it in more extreme conditions.
