Product Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible odor resistance - Tech Lite is better I don't know where things went wrong in the design / testing process, but this is absolutely garbage at resisting odor. I have at least a dozen different merino garments (most of which are 100% merino) and this one is by far the worst at resisting odor. I don't know if its the tencel or the bit of nylon in it, but it starts to stink WHILE I'm working out, which is crazy (usually sweat needs time to rot before it actually smells that bad). If you're deciding between this and the tech lite shirt, get the tech lite. I have one of them too and it works way better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fit has Changed, size went up, too large I've been purchasing Icebreaker Sphere and Tech LIte T-Shirt Large Size for at least 5 years. Sometime last year they changed the fit, a Large felt like 1/2 way towards XL. Their original Sphere line sizing seemed consisent. But this Sphere II line in Large also felt like 1/2 way towards XL both in width and Length (significantly longer). The neck fit seems alittle tighter than before, and the rest of the fit felt way too roomy and boxy. Granted this is before washing, but the fit really shouldn't change this much Icebreaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new staple in my wardrobe. I love this t-shirt. It’s so soft and comfortable and has a great fit. I’m 6’0” and 195 and size large is perfect for me. It’s great to wear alone or to layer. Due to wool’s natural temperature regulation and odor resistance this shirt is great for everyday and exceptional for travel. The poly blend with the wool makes the shirt even softer. Couldn’t be more pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Softer and lighter than previous versions The updates to this shirt is softer and lighter than the previous version. This is due to more Tencel than Merino and causes it to drape better as well, along with the split hem. I like the split hem because of this and it allows for a bit better mobility. Performance wise, it’s very cooling and dries pretty quickly. I use it for yoga and have used it for mountain biking and barely noticed it on except for how nice and soft it felt on skin. It’s quickly becoming my favorite tee shirt and I prefer it over the 100% merino tech shirt, especially for active pursuits. But I’m also loving it for lounging since it is so soft and flowy. Great job Icebreaker! I look forward to getting more of them in different colors. I can’t think of a thing I would change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for hiking and backpacking [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good weight, good breathability, replaced 12 year old version of same shirt

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfy but delicate [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's quick drying, didn't stink, very light and comfortable to wear backpacking. But it has a hole after just three days in the woods. A little one on my back so I assume it's from my pack. Super disappointed. Not worth it for the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problems This shirt irritates my neck and looks a little sloppy. I’ve worn this shirt half a dozen times, sometimes for as long as 3 days. Upon close examination, I discovered stiff fibers poking out along the neck seam. Also noticed the fabric tends to lose its shape after washing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inferior Material, Sloppy Fit Ordered this shirt in late spring of 2021, just after having come back to the US... My years-old merino wool t-shirts (from Patagonia) had been worn out, and I wanted to see what Icebreaker had to offer. After all, my favorite socks had come from them. Unfortunately, I did not check the details on the fabric before ordering and assumed the product name would adequately communicate what I'd be getting... Not true. This shirt contains under 50% wool and is mostly made of Tencel, a rayon made from an eco-friendly production process. The natural fibers are indeed odor-resistant (naturally anti-microbial). However, hardly as soft as merino wool, and most importantly, is terrible at regulating temperature, possibly due to poor breathability. Lastly, fit. This shirt has a weirdly wide neck. Although it is not too large, how this shirt loosely drapes over my body makes me think of a woman's dress. I've regularly worn the shirt during hiking, running, and other exercise, and the only way that it out-performs merino wool is durability.
