DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Icebreaker MerinoLOFT

Icebreaker MerinoLOFT
MerinoLOFT is lightweight insulation created from premium, ethically-sourced wool fibers. Ten percent of the loft comes from recycled merino offcuts salvaged from the factory floor, while the jackets’ water repellent shell is made from recycled polyester. MerinoLOFT garments are Icebreaker’s warmest-ever jackets, and are ideal for lightweight layering. Icebreaker is using the latest technology to build the next generation of high performance merino.

Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very well made, but undersized. When the vest arrived, I was immediately impressed with how attractive, well made and substantial it is. Based on my research, it compares favorably to a down vest for warmth, but this vest has a much sleeker design. As much as I wanted to keep it, I could not because I found it undersized. Even though it was an XXL,it fit like an XL and it was simply to tight. I have purchased, over the years, many Icebreaker XXL sweaters which are an excellent fit for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inconsistent Sizing I have an Icebreaker GT vest that I like, and when I saw this vest on sale, I decided to purchase it. Since I liked the GT, I purchased the same size. Unfortunately, the Stratux X is signficantly larger...more like an XXL. One of my pet peeves is when a company has inconsistent sizing across their own lines. It makes it impossible to know if you're going to receive the fit you want after already having one of their products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted I recently received my Stratus vest and am very happy with the purchase. I ordered a size large despite the size wizard's recommendation of extra large and the large fits just the way I want it to. I am 6'3" and wear a 42 long suit jacket. I wanted the vest to fit snugly so that I can wear it under a coat for layering. It fits perfectly. It is slightly heavier (warmer) than the Smart Wool vest that I have had for a few years so it is a good complement to that vest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Go To Shoulder Season Vest First, the fit; definitely not loose, but not overly tight, slightly less than form fitting. The result is a trim fitting, warm vest. Quality is excellent. One small zipped pocket inside, two zipped outside pockets. Bottom line: looks good, warm, comfortable, and and solid value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My husband never gets excited about clothes.. But he has been raving about this vest since it arrived a few days ago. He hardly takes it off, and wants a jacket version now. It is warm and soft, and despite its weight (when compared to a comparable down vest) he thinks it’s cozier and that the weight actually adds additional comfort. We live in Maine and the vest is a great layer over a warm long-sleeve shirt and under a jacket, thanks to its trim profile. The orange color with black stripe is very sexy—and the sizing is perfect: he purchased a size L and is 6’2” tall, weighing in around 175 lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost too good This vest is extremely well insulated yet is so much lighter a down vest. It’s sleek and thin design is deceiving with how warm it keeps you which makes it so versatile. A base layer, a wind block, it does it all without the fuss and sacrifice of losing all of your flexibility. Would highly recommend this vest especially the black or green, it’s stylish and goes with everything!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this vest adds very comfortable warmth For design of vest it is close and very nice around the neck plus long around the hip. The weight of it is feeling cosy all around the torso and side pockets are soft and simple. The vest is compact in a way that makes adding layers outside easy. The shell is slippery. The one thing I am undecided on is the color. Wearing something this orange is a new concept for me, so far no-one commented on how it looks on me so I don't know what to think yet. thanks for reading my review

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Replaced my down vest Good value based upon full retail. I will only buy ice breaker during sales. Inside pocket ought to be larger. A small phone may not fit (double check if you are looking to buy), certainly not mine with case and cover. Wallet won't fit either. Keys, driver's license and credit cards would be fine. Otherwise, good quality as one expects from ice breaker.
