Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Fit You may not have noticed, but Icebreaker subtly changed the fit/design on these longtime favorites for this season, FW17/18. The new cut is now 'slim' (though, it's really still relaxed) and the IB logo is now on the sleeve as opposed to the chest. I'm indifferent about the latter, I mean, it's great, but I'm a huge fan of the former - the new fit is MUCH better! The shirts are longer in the torso and don't lift up nearly as much when you lift your arms; this was a much needed improvement. Now my older, original Tech T's won't be the only ones getting all the wear. They still have the little bit of nylon, which is great for durability, and feel really soft. Plus all the usual no-stink, quick-dry, temperature-regulating benefits that you normally get from merino!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the Merino [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Incredibly comfortable. I have sensitive skin, so I was worried when I felt like it was a tad scratchy, but once on it was amazing. Comfortable, and kept me cool in 90+ degree heat, I even wore it a few days in a row when the A/C broke. I’m not sure if the Large would have fit me, but this is quite a relaxed fit. I’m usually borderline L/XL in the shoulders and I can choose a little tight across chest and should or comfortable. With how “comfortable” this is, I’m guessing the L might be a better fit in a darker color for a cleaner look, though the sizing chart said I should absolutely be XL.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No What It Used To Be I've been a faithful icebreaker customer for over 10 yrs. I've purchased about 20 of these (where have the unique nature oriented graphics gone to?) in this time and still have each of them. I recently purchased yet another but was surprised to see that the wool is nearly see through, is now cut much and no longer has the woven icebreaker logo on the left chest. Don't be like the rest of nearly every company out there: charging more for less. Return to your roots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NEW FIT IS AWFUL Tech Lite shirts have fit nearly the same for over ten years and Icebreaker had to go and mess up a great thing. Shameful!!! You are going to lose a longtime loyal customer here, Icebreaker. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go to travel shirt My Tech-Lite t-shirt has been my go-to shirt for travel and hiking for the last sixteen years. I regularly travel overseas on business and need to pack light. I wear my Tech Lite t-shirt under a flannel shirt for the plane and I am comfortable and warm enough when I am sleeping. The merino wool is versatile enough in its temperature regulation that if my destination is hot (Thailand) or cold (Norway), I know it will keep me comfortable, so year-round, it is always on my packing list. Now, after sixteen years, it is finally wearing thin in a couple places, so I am shopping for a new one for when I want to look professional and my tried-and-true one will still be used for camping and hiking. Thanks for making such a great shirt!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I am so so disappointed...... Icebreaker has been my only go-to T shirt for years. The fit was perfect, the weight was perfect, the look was perfect. And it was differentiated from others. I recently ordered the latest iteration of the Tech Lite short sleeve and it’s completely different- the fit is different, the weight is different, it looks like every other boring T shirt out there. It doesn’t feel substantial. But the worst thing is the fit just sucks. It looks so clingy as opposed to fitted. There is no character to the fit once it’s on. It looks like someone dumped a can of paint over me and it stuck to me in the form of a t shirt. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am. I don’t know why companies feel the need to discontinue items that work so well and are so popular. It’s so frustrating. I am the classic 6 foot, broad shouldered, medium-size wearing poster child for great mens fit. I find it across just about all brands and styles. If it doesn’t fit well for me, it doesn’t fit well for anyone. I would ask you to just go back to what made you so great but I would suspect you are having just enough success where you won’t. You probably don’t realize how many people you have sent out there to “re-shop” their wardrobe staple. I have to find an alternative. I can’t stomach these shirts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wildly disappointing I'm a wildlife biology and work outside all day everyday. I was convinced by a coworker to start switching gear over to merino. I started with icebreaker because I thought they had a reputation for quality. I was wrong. I wore it probably 10 times, washed it once, and there are already holes forming. $75 dollars and it starts failing after 10 (not at all intense wears). As I said, wildly disappointing. Merino is a great fabric, I would recommend going with a brand that cares about longevity. Other than that, it's also much darker than what was pictured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Icebreaker is as Advertised After traveling to New Zealand, I was curious to try a merino wool shirt. Icebreaker was the brand most recommended there. My first purchase, the MERINO TECH LITE SHORT SLEEVE CREWE T-SHIRT has made me a believer. Wearing it daily for 2 weeks and no odor or stains. Comfortable and quickly lost its wrinkles right out of the package. Being sensitive to labels and seams, I was particularly wary of the wool "itch factor". Not a problem at all. I have since purchased 2 more shirts and expect to purchase in the future!
