DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Icebreaker MerinoLOFT

Icebreaker MerinoLOFT
MerinoLOFT is lightweight insulation created from premium, ethically-sourced wool fibers. Ten percent of the loft comes from recycled merino offcuts salvaged from the factory floor, while the jackets’ water repellent shell is made from recycled polyester. MerinoLOFT garments are Icebreaker’s warmest-ever jackets, and are ideal for lightweight layering. Icebreaker is using the latest technology to build the next generation of high performance merino.

Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as warm as I expected I really like all Icebreaker clothing. This is the first item that I was questioning. First, the bottom is pretty tight on hips (well, that might be good in windy situations). Second, it wasn't as warm as I thought it would be. It could be my fault for expecting too much. After all, it doesn't have any special or stated coldness rating. I bought it for a winter Scotland trip. Temperatures were in the upper 30s, lower 40s. I wore Icebreaker 260 thermal base, wool sweater, and jacket. And I was cold. Then again, it could be just me. However, for that much money, there are other brands to consider.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Much thinner than expected, but good I really love this jacket, but know beforehand that this is a very tight fitting jacket. It appears that it is meant more to be a layer underneath a warmer parka or something. It is much thinner/more lightweight than I anticipated, but packs a decent amount of warmth into a small package. It will pack very well for traveling. Nice looking, good jacket, but definitely go a size or two up unless you want a jacket that is almost suctioned to you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect hiking jacket! This is the second Hyperia Lite jacket I've purchased. I've worn my first one on over 300 hikes, and while it's still in near perfect condition, I decided I needed a change of color for the next 300 hikes. It weighs less than a sweater, but super at regulating my varying temperature when hiking. Feels great at 40 degrees and up to 65 degrees. I do think that it runs a little small. I'm a medium in most clothing, but I bought a large and it's still snug in the hips when zipped up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovin these Wool Products I'm athletic, 5'6", around 140lb, so bought the Medium jacket. I have yet to use it on a hike but I have used it running (around 35 degrees F) over my merino wool baselayer and kept be warm enough so I wasn't sweating a bucket like I would normally do in other jackets made of polyester or any other material. It's thin but seems like it'll keep body heat in very well while providing adequate ventilation. I'm looking forward to hiking in it. The shoulders are not tight at all for me, I seem to have broad shoulders, and I can swing my arms all the way around without feeling any tightness, which is a must when finding a jacket! Pockets are nice and deep. The blue color is very nice. I think Icebreaker is a great company and would recommend their products for anyone trying to find more natural and comfortable clothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Jacket I bought this jacket for days when it is a little cool outside and I need a warm, light layer. This is the perfect jacket, light weight, just warm enough and easy to layer. I have a down sweater from a different company, but I like this one so much better. I love the merino layer, the outer fabric is durable for hikes. Icebreaker is the best. I have tops from the early days of the company, they are still going strong. Very well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for around town, not backpacking I bought this jacket for a summer backpack trip. Wasn't warm enough at 30 degrees F. without several other layers. Was going to return it, but discovered it's super for in-town wear. Light, warm but not too hot, for pretty much anything Portland, Oregon, serves up. Even at colder temps -New York City in the winter - it works just fine for walking around town and I don't overheat when going into stores, subways, etc. Also looks really good! It's my go-to jacket now. Will probably buy a puffer for the next backpack trip, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jacket I need clothing that is versatile across climates. I live in Florida where we have some chilly weather and am headed north to Alaska this winter. Florida dropped to freezing last night so I was able to try out my new jacket on a long walk this morning and couldn't be more pleased. The jacket appears well made, is very comfortable, warm, not bulky, and looks really nice. The high collar and longer sleeves look like they'll be good in the wind.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sized incorrectly! Three of us agree that this is in no way a size large jacket. I called customer service to see if I can return it. No response.
